OOC note: I understand that since it's the holidays, people will be out celebrating them. This thread will remain open for as long as it takes for Rachel to be born, but the end result will be that Rachel is born healthy and safe and Bethany lives

Nick arrives at the hospital but is quickly told that since he's not family, he can't go in. He hopes that some of the more omnipotent of Bethany's friends can bypass that little obstacle. He shows them his badge but it's still no go. All he can do is wait, worry, and pace.

[gods_voice]

The Metatron taps Nick on the shoulder, and then motions for him to follow.

Bethany has had the baby with help from Sam and is in her hospital room, sleeping. Rachel is in the nursery, being taken care of. The nurses and doctors are amazed that the baby was born so premature and seemed to be fully grown. Tiny, but fully grown.

[nick_stokes_]

Nick raises an eyebrow and follows him.

[gods_voice]

He takes Nick to the room, knocking politely before opening the door and poking his head in.

"You have a visitor, my dear."

Having made the announcement, he steps aside to let Nick in.

[bethany_sloane]

She wakes slowly, blinking a few times and looking around when she hears the Metatron. She smiles when she sees him and sits up a bit in bed, trying to see who's coming in.

Nick thanks the man and walks in slowly. "Bethany. You okay?" He walks to her side and holds her hand.

[bethany_sloane]

She looks over to him, smiling. "Yeah. I'm okay."

A nurse comes in, holding Rachel and wheeling in a little bed to place beside Bethany's bed. She smiles at Nick and Bethany, then carefully places Rachel in Bethany's arms. "Someone wants to say hello."

Bethany looks down at the tiny baby in her arms and smiles at her, speechless.

"Aww, she's beautiful Bethany. Just like her mom."

[bethany_sloane]

She didn't take her eyes off her daughter as she responded. "I can't believe she's here. And alive. And safe."

[nick_stokes_]

"Did something happen?"

[bethany_sloane]

She chuckles softly, then looks up at him. "You could say that. She's three months early."

[nick_stokes_]

"Well I know. I remember you saying you were only at six months. Rather not talk about it?"

[bethany_sloane]

"I don't mind. You remember that guy from the Nexus? Dressed in a white suit? He...cursed me."

She hugs the her daughter a little closer to her.

[nick_stokes_]

"You mean the one that I told off? Bastard." he moves a bit closer to her, feeling protective now.

[bethany_sloane]

She nods. Rachel squirms a little in her arms and makes little baby noises. She smiles and strokes her cheek with her finger.
