christmas shopping

Bundled up in a coat, hat, gloves, and scarf over her sweater and jeans, Bethany got into her car and started driving to the mall. She passed the woman's clinic on the way and bit her lower lip, looking down at her stomach. They had been nice enough to give her her job back and congratulated her on the baby, but she couldn't help still feeling

Nick pulls up about five minutes later in his Tahoe, he finds a parking space and hops out, tossing his scarf over his shoulder and walking up to the mall. That charming texan smile crosses his face when he sees Bethany and he leans in to kiss her hello

She smiles and kisses him back. "Hey. Have any trouble finding the place?"

He shakes his head. "Are you kidding me? I'm a man, we have an amazing sense of direction" he winks

[bethany_sloane]

She smiled and nudged him a little. "Yeah, but you're not from Illinois. People can get lost easily in a new place."

She takes his hand and starts to walk into the mall. "So how has work been for you lately?"

"Busy, but that's nothing new. We cracked open a case this morning luckily, Grissom gave us the rest of the day off. Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to make it"

[bethany_sloane]

"I'm glad you could," she says, snaking an arm around his waist and snuggling a little closer to him as they walked. "So where should we go first? Do you need to get any shopping done?"

He nods and hugs her closer too. "Lots actually and I have NO idea what to buy"

[bethany_sloane]

"At least you don't have to go shopping for ethereal beings," she said, sighing a little. "Who do you have to get gifts for, besides your family?"

[nick_stokes_]

"My co-workers... you" he stops her and places a hand on her stomach, rubbing gently. "Her"

[bethany_sloane]

She blushes, smiling euphorically. "You don't have to get anything for us. It's not like we've been dating for a terribly long time or anything. I wasn't expecting anything."

Sure, she'd been planning on getting him something, but she hadn't expected anything in return...nothing big, anyway.

[nick_stokes_]

"Well you're a part of my life now and you get a present.. so there" He sticks his tongue out

[bethany_sloane]

She smirks, then gets up on her tip-toes to kiss him. "Fine, but I get to get you something too."

It's a lot warmer inside than it is outside, so she removes her gloves, hat, scarf, and coat and drapes everything over her arm. She's showing quite a bit by now, but it's all in her tummy.

"I won't argue with that, but don't spend alot on me" He smiles. "Here, let me take that stuff for you"

[bethany_sloane]

"Oh, thank you." She drops everything in his arms and looks around at all the stores. She sees Victoria's Secret and remembers that she was thinking of that as a possibility for a gift for Serendipity. "Do you mind going in here?"

He shakes his head. "A lingerie store? What man would mind looking at stuff like that?"

[bethany_sloane]

"Good point."

She grabs his free hand and tugs him into the store. "It's not for me, actually. One of my friends recently turned human and I figured she'd appriciate something sexy to wear."
