I am still in New York and liking it a lot.
I still don't have a job, but I'm working on it. All set up with a temp agency and just need a job to come in that fits my requirements/"skills". Possibilities of working at NYU in an office type job. I think this could be okay.
I recently decided to try to go to pharmacy school next fall (too late for this one). This will take a whopping 4 years of school/life plus tons of cash/loans because the only nearby schools are private and pharmacy school costs a lot even at most public schools.
Negatives: I just left Gainesville, and UF has one of the top 10/12 programs in the country according to U.S. News & World Report. Dammit.
Positives: Next time i'd need to look for a job, i could find one, and it would quite reasonably offer me 6 figures.
Currently, i make 0 figures.
Monday night bingo at Ceol (an Irish pub/bar just a reasonable walk north on Smith Street from my apartment) pretty much rules. I've been three times since i moved here. The first time i won a free drink. The second time i won a bottle of champagne. This past Monday I won free brunch for two! And the bartenders are so cute and Irishy and smiley. And my free brunch certificate is a piece of cardboard written on with pen (and metallic markers to emphasize the important parts). It's grand.
I have discovered the best pancakes that can be bought. I'm fairly confident on this. I love them and want them every weekend, and you will too if you try them.
I had the "best cannoli on the planet" last weekend in Little Italy. The sign said so, and i think it's probably true because they were much more modest about their gelato - only the best on Mulberry Street. And it was really good. Lately, I love cannoli and also these cannoli tarts that a bakery in my neighborhood sells. Delicious. Not a substitute for coffee milkshakes, but since that's a near impossible thing to get a good one of around here, i've got to have something.
As of today, we have legal Internet. And cable - with DVR. This is unheard of.
