(no subject)

It has been brought to my attention *coughbyNathancoughcough* that I need to post. And in all fairness, I reallyreally do.

Right, well.
Christmas was pretty good, got a shinyshiny mp3 player. Haven't christened it as yet, but I probably will. Any suggestions?

Asked The Boy out just before Christmas. He said no. A) he's not allowed to date, and B) if he was, he fancies my friend. Never mind that he never says a word to her or even appears to notice her... At any rate, he spent two exquisitely painful days ignoring me (we were in the same group to do a presentation, and he kept himself turned away from me the entire time), but is now back to normal, thank God. And yes, I do still reallyreally like him. BASTARD.

Nearly got to see David Tennant (be still my beating heart) switch on the Christmas lights in Cardiff, but Steph was late for the train so we missed the lot. Was less than impressed. Am still less than impressed with Steph, but now because she's now missed eleven or twelve school days in a row because she'd rather sit home on the PC and talk to her boyfriend (seriously.), and blocks any of us who mention the subject, even if we're only saying things like 'do you want me to find out what you've missed?'. She can't even keep her lies straight- she told Ellie she's off school because firstly her sister was sick and she had to llok after her, then caught the illness herself; but she told Beth she'd caught whatever-it-was first and THEN her sister caught it. It is ridiculous.

We had an OMGCOMPUTERCRASH, and I lost a fair few of my files to it. *pout* Not fair, not fair at all. Apparently there are parts of Africa with less viruses than my hard drive had. *wince*

Speaking of which, I had an icon that said 'talk geeky to me'. It got lost in aforementioned Great File Loss of 06, and now (of course) I covet it. Anyone who spots such an icon and notifies me will be worshipped.

Had three of my AS modules this January: Biology, History and English. Didn't go too badly, and if I've passed Biology (which I hate. Should never have taken it, but too late now) it'll be all because of volandum's tutoring. Results are March 9th. *nervous*

Anyone who cares to remind me at intervals to finish my Red Riding Hood coursework essay for English Lang will find me grateful.

Had my MMR jab today. Was OK, if you like having needles stuck in you. I swore a bit, but that was all.

We've discovered my dad's half brother whom we've never met, and he came up tonight to meet my dad and my auntie. Was quite good. He was arguing with my aunt over religion almost straight away, which won my liking because Auntie Sian is very 'men-are-the-head-of-the-household-and-women-belong-tied-to-the-kitchen-by-their-apron-strings'. *eyeroll* Apparently the reason Margaret Thatcher became Prime Minister was because the men around her were all wimps. It wasn't like she was good at her job or anything... I mean, I can't stand Thatcher, but she was our first-ever woman PM and you have to respect that. So yeah, Roger's pretty cool (and he's filthy rich, too. Damn it, clearly Mum married the wrong brother) even if he does bear a slight resemblance to a younger Ian McKellen, though a fair bit less fey.

His imminent arrival meant that yesterday Mum a) went absolutely mad baking (which is cool) and b) went absolutely mad (which is not). Mostly the madness consisted of yelling at me and Dad and making Morgan worried they were going to split up. Bless him.

volandum, if I'm offline when you see this, are you OK? I've been trying to IM you. Would call, but you said the parents were due back today and I don't wanna get you in trouble. Sorry I had to vanish so quickly last night. Feel free to phone up til about 1.30 the very latest- just let the phone ring once and then hang up and I'll call back, if you want.

Oof. I think that's about everything news-ish. Am off to get a drink.
