I fucking hate St Patrick's Day. I hate the bullshit on Twitter, I hate the bollocks on LJ, I hate the dickery in real life, I hate the crap in chat.
Every year, when it's pointed out that the rampant, wildly skeevy cultural appropriation of it is, well, rampant and wildly skeevy, to say nothing of actually hurtful to at least one person present, EVERYONE FUCKING IGNORES IT. Even when it's just a case of 'look, we aren't going to agree on this, can we just drop the damn subject please', it just goes on and on and on and on.
Seriously, this shit is hurtful and upsetting to people I care about. Could we just not, just for one year? PLEASE?
Finally got so pissed off in chat tonight that I left. Making me the fifth person to do so in one night. Now I want a goddamn drink, and it had better not be sodding Guinness.
