I just saw a thing on Warren Ellis' LJ enquiring about who lives in/could easily get to London, and the comments are making me want to live in London. Badly. Paris is cool and all (...sometimes), but I miss my Brit cities. :/
In other news!
Parents have been lovely and understanding and sent me money. :D Ridiculously expensive money (it should not cost £270 to send me €250), but I have it today and don't need to worry about paying for the Metro. They have hit the level of understanding that last night I told my mother that I intended to buy myself a new iPod when my cards came through, in order to make up for the GRATUITOUS FAIL, and she was like '...Sounds fair'. I may be a Lovely Big Sister and give Morgan my old one, if he wants it.
Given the current Issues with the postal service, I will be going back to Britain to pick my cards up - as I'd been kind of intending to come back for
rowanberries's show anyway, it's not so bad. I'll be in London from early am on the 10th, heading to Cardiff the evening of the 11th, and leaving from London early morning on the 15th.
As for my rent... I dunno. :/ I was meant to see my landlady yesterday (it's a private rent) but she was barely here. Antoine (that's her son) says he'll explain it to her, so we'll see. If all else fails and my French bank account still hasn't resolved itself by then, I'll just get her €650 in cash when I'm back in Britain.
I can't wait to get my cities back, you guys. :D
ETA: So Kai Owen, Rene Auberjonois (eee ODO), Misha Collins, John Rhys Davies and John Barrowman at Collectormania in November? Something tells me that I'm going to be spending almost the entire month in back in Britain. I'm going to be doing my damnedest to make it, in any case.
