"We plan our lives according to a dream that came to us in our childhood, and we find that life alters our plans. And yet, at the end, from a rare height, we also see that our dream was our fate. It's just that providence had other ideas as to how we would get there. Destiny plans a different route, or turns the dream around, as if it were a riddle, and fulfills the dream in ways we couldn't have expected.” ~
Ben Okri I have always been a big believer in fate. Whatever happens, happens for a reason.
Today I received an email from the temp agency I worked for in Seattle. They have a position in the same department I worked in and with the same manager at Amazon.com that I worked with when I lived up there last year. This is the same manager that specifically asked for me to come back 3 months ago.
The difference is that this position pays more and after the 6 month contract, there's the possibility that the position will become permament, meaning that I could become an employee of Amazon.
There's a reason that this is happening. I haven't been happy here in San Diego. I've missed Seattle a lot and have been thinking about moving back for awhile. I think this is the perfect opportunity. I talked with a friend of mine up there back in May when I got the first offer and she said I could stay with her and her husband while I waited for my first paycheck then I'd find an apartment. All my stuff is still in seattle so the only thing I would have to do is pack up my car and drive up there.
I think I'm going to do it. If it works out, I'm going to ask that I start on August 28th, that way I can be here for my roomie on the 22nd and get a last full paycheck. I'm going to call the agency tomorrow. I'll let you know what happens.
