Shopping is hard

On not one, but two different websites today, I can't complete my purchase because the website checkout is broken.

On the Virgin Mobile site, the customer service phone tree to "buy by telephone" only leads you to a voicemail message that tells you to purchase your new phone on their website. This, after spending an hour with their "chat" technical support telling me to re-try my purchase with other payment methods and both as a logged-in customer and a new customer. I never tried clearing my cookies, but wow!

I eventually went down the phone tree to "technical support" for my existing phone, found a human, and they were able to transfer me to someone who would let me buy a new phone using minutes credit I'd already paid. At least that part was a win. I'm getting a $14.99 flip phone basically exactly like my old one but newer, and hopefully the battery will last for more than 3 minutes of calls.

Now, on the Cokesbury website, I can't log in, and the "forgot password?" link says, "The page /members/?action=password_forgot_prompt was not found." I'm pretty sure I did not forget my password and their log in site is broken (it was the last time I was there too) but I find this to be a pretty sorry state of affairs for web purchasing.

One thing Amazon does right is let you buy stuff you want to buy.

Can you tell by my blogging rate I'm avoiding getting my taxes done?
