Least expensive house on my block for sale: $1.4M
The least expensive house on my block is currently for sale, asking $1.39M for 1986 square feet (4 BR 2BA). We'd love to have friends as neighbors.
It was previously the least-well-maintained house on the block, so it's likely somewhat of a fixer upper and a very good entry level home location if you're looking to have a nice house in the area at a lower price than similar offerings. Cupertino Union school district, it backs up against the freeway like ours does. To compare, another house on our street is currently pending at 1.76M for 2915 square feet, 6 BR 2.5 BA with pool.
They recently did all the things that make a house look nicer for sale, but it will likely need detail work. The father of the family recently passed away (kids are out-of-college age) and when I last spoke to the mom they weren't planning to sell, but she appears to have changed her mind and/or it's a distressed sale. They were a really nice family (always bought Popcorn/cookies from the kids & sometimes watched our fish when we were on vacation.)
The other home was also one where the older residents passed away. Very few houses on our block have come up for sale; people tend to die before they move. The open house is this weekend 1-4 Sat/Sun, it will likely be pending by Wednesday.
