Title: Something Incredible
Author: beth_archangel
Pairing: You/Archuleta
Rating: PG-13
Summary: David drives by you at the local park.

It was a normal day, for the most part. Sunny skies, green grass, birds chirping, the occasional hot guy, whatever. You still had homework to get done, and there was just too much noise and commotion in your house to finish your work there, so, over the screaming of your brothers and sisters, you yell to your mom and dad that you’re going to take your homework to the park and finish it there. They give you a nod, and wave as a sign that they’re okay with you doing so.

Grabbing your iPod, phone, and backpack, you head out. Dressed in a pair of jeans, and your favorite shirt, sneakers on your small feet, you left your hair loose around your shoulders, so that it could hang down and frame your face.

By the time you get to the park, you’re grinning. Every hot guy you passed had given you at least a wink or two, and the phonebook on your phone had gained a few male contacts. You eye a bench, and make a beeline for it. Sitting down, you put your earphones in, turning to your favorite song and turning it up until it’s almost too loud, before pulling out your binder. You start writing, finishing up your essay for your History class. Right when you finish, and put your binder away, now grabbing the novel you had to read for English, you hear the unmistakable sound of a revving engine.

You roll your eyes, hands still buried in your bag, bent over. Probably some idiot trying to show off. You think to yourself, that is, until you pull out your book, sitting up, and your eyes falling right on the source of the distraction.

At the red light, you see a brand new 2010 Ford Mustang, a shiny candy apple red color, with two thick black stripes running from the front bumper, over the hood and the roof, to the back bumper. The windows were rolled up, and you could barely see a teenage boy sitting in the driver’s seat, sunglasses on his face. You squinted at him, for he looked vaguely familiar, you knew you had seen his face before. A tinted window rolled down, and your eyes almost pop out of your head at who the driver is.

David Archuleta.

You’ve seen him look his absolute best on TV and in concert, but somehow, seeing him in a funky graphic tee, his dark hair spiked just right, with sunglasses covering his gorgeous eyes, probably wearing ridiculously tight jeans as well as he lounges in his leather seat, one arm stretched out and lazily resting on the steering wheel, you have never seen him look more beautiful in your life. And yes, you had forgotten he would be spending a few days near your hometown for a benefit concert, even though your family had bought you tickets the moment you told them about it. But now, having him so close to you, has brought the realization with full force. Surprisingly, you don’t spaz, or even scream, mainly because you’re too caught up in watching his perfect, full lips moving as he quietly sings along to the song on the radio.

Then the light goes green, his car goes forward, towards you, and how he manages to look every single kind of sexy just by doing something as mundane as driving, you don’t even know. Soon, he’s less than 25 feet away from you, slowing down once he reaches the park. And as he drives by, he slowly lowers his sunglasses with one long finger, his hazel eyes glittering when they meet yours, smirking as one closes in a very flirtatious wink meant just for you. Then he’s gone, speeding off down the road, as your heart pounds against your chest. And, for some reason, you know that when you go to his concert, something incredible will happen afterwards.
