Jack Stice Memorial Community Service Award™ nominations due March 31

Who is making a difference in your community? What groups make a difference to your life? Who is doing the hard work that assists your community in thriving?

We want to hear from you! This is your opportunity to nominate outstanding individual and group efforts made by those in the southeast for the Jack Stice Memorial Community Service Award™. We want to hear your voice, thoughts and histories that make the Southeast a phenomenal region.

This award, and those who receive it, honor the legacy of Jack Stice -- a passionate Atlanta leatherman, 1995 International Master, and producer of the first SouthEast LeatherFest. It was his vision of a gathering of leather people of all orientations, genders and traditions that sparked what is now SELF. In 1996, SouthEast LeatherFest, the first major leather event of its kind in Atlanta, became living proof that the leather communities of Atlanta had taken great strides in bridging the gap between different factions -- gay, lesbian, pansexual, bisexual, heterosexual and transsexual. The Jack Stice Memorial Community Service Award™ formally recognizes individuals, clubs and businesses in the Southeast Region that exemplify the service to the community and dedication to charitable concerns for which Jack was known.

Nominations must include:
* Your email address, name and phone number (cell phones are okay).
* The name of the person or group you are nominating.
* Contact information for the person or group you are nominating.
* Where the person or group resides (state and city).
* Why you are nominating them and any supporting history.

The two recipients of the award (an individual and an organization) will be recognized at SouthEast LeatherFest 2008 (June 13-15, Atlanta, GA), and will receive a plaque and on-stage recognition acknowledging their efforts to continue to improve the communities in the southeast. The 2007 recipients were Aurora of RSVP in Baton Rouge, LA, and CAPEX in Charlotte, NC.

Let us know who is making a difference! Nominations should be emailed to Kyle Fulkerson at SELFKyle@aol.com, and must be received by March 31. For more information, visit the SELF web site at http://www.seleatherfest.com/JackSticeAward.php.
