Has anyone heard anything from Harry Dresden recently? I... keep going to see him, and he seems to have disappeared. I hope he's all right....

I don't suppose anyone has heard whether or not Professor Snape intends to resume lessons anytime soon? Or, indeed, if anyone's heard from him ( Read more... )

Do you think something has become of your friend?

From what I've heard, it's likely he's simply been sent back home.

A less simple matter than implied. Is it not the aim of those imprisoned here to seek a way back to their own realms?

It doesn't seem to happen intentionally, based on what I've seen and heard.

Surely it must be the intent of someone or something.

You believe it occurs by chance, then. A troubling thought.

I don't want to claim it's by chance, though it's the only reasonable explanation to me. I don't know of any magic powerful enough to do some of the things I've experienced here.

There are older and stronger magics in the world than mortals could fathom. Absence of proof is not necessarily proof of absence.

You sound a bit like my former Headmaster... only, of course, not quite as old as he was.

You might be surprised.

Thank you. That is kind of you to say.

... are you trying to say that you do?

I'm simply saying it was a flattering observation to make.

I am sure you are aware, but things are not always as they appear.

I've been a witness to things being different than they seem far too often to pretend otherwise.

You sound like a young man, though Heaven knows I can't make judgments based upon a voice.
