How in the hell do you propose we hide anything from them when they're practically breathing down our necks, reading things over our shoulders? They're taking everything, Owen, and they're taking it now. They're stuck on the business and expense files that I've got in my office but you know that the secure archives are where they're going to want to go next...

Benefits of not having a filing system. They don't know what I've got. Besides, as soon as they started rifling around I found places to hide a few files. It's not so hard.

Is there anything in there we don't want them finding?

Oh, I don't know. Everything? I mean, that's where we've got all the employee personnel files. I mean, we're talking history, criminal records, you name it, if we put it in the records it's in there. Everything from Wes's parole terms to notes on Scott's execution back in his home world.

Wes's parole is pretty known to them, so that's not a problem.

Scott, on the other hand... I don't know if I can get all that much out of there. I'll try, but if they see me going to the archives they're going to want to follow me and open the place up. We can't hide every personnel file, either - they'll know we're up to something then.

Have they given you a real reason for this yet? Or is it all still "Magistrate this" and "Magistrate that"?
