Today, November 7, the tropical island comes to life.
Five springs across the island start spouting water. The sun dawns on several new types of berries and fruits that weren't there before.
Feel free to snack away, but be warned: these foods have consequences.
SPRINGS: All effects from the springs can last anywhere from fifteen minutes

Now she was having a grand time swimming through the clear water, laughing and twirling. She probably should be worried about how long she'll be stuck in this state, but she can't be bothered at the moment. This is so freeing and fun!
She spots someone else in the water and waves as well as one can underwater. Then she beckons for him to come join her. She wants to explore and it'll be fun with a companion.

He's not used to having to fight for his survival.
He gives her a smile and a wave. Pushes off of a rock and swims towards her, with sweeping, smooth strokes. He's never swum this way, but he likes it. He could get used to it.
His new companion's hair is a cloud around her, swirling and shifting with the currents. He reaches out to touch the edges of the strands, and they're silk-shiver against his skin.

Keeping her legs together, she kicks off, resembling a mermaid with the way her legs are waving through the water.

Seeing a woman flying- or flailing- against the dimly gray sky was not what he expected, and he stopped to stare a moment before he realized...
"Cho?"

She said nothing, not able to focus on the fact that he was talking at her even though he had the wrong name.

He ran down the beach, to the edge of the water. "Hey! Do you need help?"

So now she was reclining on a beach towel, her eyes closed, skin sun warmed and mind at peace. Yes, this was exactly what she needed.

"Uhura!" she says, joyfully. "I brought you a snack."
She plops down next to Uhura and offers.

So she reaches out and takes one. "Thanks." Part of her is still waiting for the other shoe to drop when it comes to Glory. Another part of her wishes it wouldn't, likes having a boss who recognizes her value. Or, at the very least, recognizes that there is value she should be recognizing.
Uhura doesn't think she's ever tasted a better banana in her life.

Glory is smirking. So much smirking.
She settles, scooching a little hollow in the sand for her butt.
"The ocean," she says, "is like football." The waves sound like crowds, to her. Distant crowds, so that roars become hushed murmurs.

"Are you going to sleep all day?" a voice calls out to her.
Rubbing her eyes, she groans and sits up. "I'm up, I'm up." Then she blinks rapidly a few times and spots the peacock beside her.
"Uh, that wouldn't have been you talking to me just now, right?" She chuckles to herself.
The peacock's beak opens. "Of course it's me."
Amy gasps and jumps back on her rear end, but the peacock spreads his wings and follows.
"Not too far! If we get too far apart, we'll start to feel very unwell."
Standing up, Amy glances around, wondering if anyone can explain this to her, or if anyone has animals trailing after them and talking nonsense.

Peeta remembers being curious about the starfruit, remembers that Katniss taught him not to eat anything he couldn't identify, then he remembers his concerns wandering out of his mind like a receding tide. This wasn't the arena, they weren't home, and the starfruit - it had been so beautiful.
He can vaguely hear another voice in the distance, it seemed familiar, but he couldn't recognize who.
"Peeta wake up," it was that voice again. It was gentle, definitely a female voice. Very soothing.
So when Peeta finally open his eyes, he let out a loud shriek of surprise. Above him, staring at him, standing there patiently, was a 15 foot elephant. And Peeta had never seen an elephant in his entire life.

"Hey," she said gently, not wanting to spook the elephant. "I remember you from Halloween." The peacock struts out beside her, flapping its wings.
Reply
"Amy!" He had always been good with names, and the sight of someone familiar was slightly reassuring, given that Peeta was terrified of the large animal crushing him.
He scooted himself backwards, slowly getting to his feet and walking towards Amy and the peacock.

To the Doctor's credit, he'd been reasonably suspicious of the person selling water on the beach. He'd poured just a little into his palm to taste-test, figuring if there was anything fishy going on, he'd be able to detect it and shrug it off. He'd been right on the first point - very wrong on the second.
He's retreated into the trees in an attempt to get away from people, especially Romana, until the effects wear off - but as luck would have it, he's headed toward the source of that same water. He can hear what's going on over there long before he's able to see it.
But he's not going to see it. Not going to hear it, either. The Doctor presses his back against a tree, shuts his eyes and tries to shut his ears, but only gets as far as clapping a hand over one ear before he hesitates. He's been in situations like this before; knows it's only going to get more painful if he tries to ignore it. But what else can he do?

"Oh. Hello, Jim." Going for casual. When that fails, he shakes his head. "No. Not terribly."

Jim. And the Doctor. Two people that he trusts with his life.
"Oh, good," he says, "good. I was afraid I'd gone completely crazy."
Though, knowing what had happened, they probably couldn't understand him any more than anyone else could.
Jim is the closer, and Charles gives in to the urge low in him, the urge to be close, to communicate. He steps up and hugs Jim close. Expressing relief and closeness through skin and bone, because he can't express it any other way.
