She was uncharacteristically quiet when she arrived. She paced the room several times and didn't even bother looking at Tony.

"Please don't tell me you brought Get Well flowers," he murmurs. "They'll stink up the whole place."

"I can have you removed from here if you wish," she commented as she glanced out a convenient window.

"No," he says. His voice turns raspy. "I'm fine right here."

And then Delta bursts in.
He shuts the door, quickly, behind himself.
"Tony," he says. "Hi."

She reaches for the packet of utensils, tearing it open for him, and then taking the fork to compile a bite of food.

Then, without turning around, he says, "You know, I make for a kinda boring evening show. Might want to take the staring elsewhere."

He's losing himself bit by bit each day. Bennett's chip may have controlled Extremis and cleared his thoughts, but when the city around him breathes and speaks and touches his skin, it's only a stopgap for the real solution.
It converges, all the shadows in the white room and the blurring edges of the machines, to the door, and he drags his eyes over to Sirius.
Reply
"It's me, Sirius. I'm here." He tries to sound reassuring.

Then, he backs into the bed railing, one hand gripping it behind him so hard that the skin squeaks around the metal, and bites out, "Don't."
