spitefully yours...

Go ahead! Laugh at my expense! I care not about your judgments.

Go ahead! Spit in my face! Call me a disgrace! For I need not your mercy, or your grace. Wait and see, I will have my time and place.

Go ahead! Kick me while I’m down! Beat me, mock me, push me around! Go ahead!

Despise me, hate me, pulverize me, loath me, go ahead!

You look at me and laugh out loud, as if you have a reason to be proud, well go ahead!

You beat me down and kick me around, and throw me face-first to the ground, go ahead!

You take a look and mock my art, and thrust your spear into my heart, don’t stop!

Go ahead! Mock in delight! Stare at me, I’m such a sight, go ahead!

Go ahead and rub me in the mud! Cover me with tears and blood, I don’t care! In the end you’ll get your share, go ahead!

Go on! Throw me in the dirt! Trample me, it doesn’t hurt, go ahead!

You give me looks and stares, gestures, glares. Who cares?

Go ahead! Curse my name! Slander me, it’s all the same, laugh at me, I’ll play your game, go ahead!

I care not! Hold your grudges, discriminate, you’re not my judges, go ahead!

Why should I care? Go ahead and give me strife, rejection is a part of life, so go ahead!

You try to get a rise from me, and phase me with your mockery, yet I’m un-moved!

You hurl insults my direction, I need no shelter or protection, fire away!

You try to stab me in the back, but why not try a true attack, my heart is bitter, hardened, cold, and black, and un-affected by your flack!

You scream profanities in my ear, and point, and laugh, and cheer, and jeer, well you have nothing that I fear. Call me odd and strange and queer, I don’t care!

I will live in spite of you, it doesn’t matter what you do!

I’m satisfied just being me, that’s my individuality, the one thing you can’t take from me, it’s my creativity!

I’m taking life at my own pace, and watch, just watch, I’ll win this race! Go ahead!

You may not take heed to my plea, but no matter what I’m always me, and that’s what makes me truly free, so leave me be, and flee from me, I won’t let you steal my glee! Go ahead!

You don’t know what life is about, all you do is scream and judge and shout, well go ahead!

You may boast that you’re the best, and let the pride swell up your chest. Blow out my candle, I confess, you’re playing with a hornets nest! So go about your silly quest, play with hornets, be my guest! You’re just the same as all the rest, find someone else to be your jest!

And even though you are my foe, I think there’s something you should know. Your life is nothing but a show. On the outside you may shine and glow, but inside you’re completely hollow. So drop that stone you’re about to throw and leave this place at once, yes, go!

When you need a second chance, I won’t give you a second glance, no not one single thought, I’ll leave you lying there to rot!

You laugh now, well go ahead, and I’ll be laughing when your dead, because you’ll be being judged instead! You made your bed, now lie in it, and cry in it, and wither up and die in it. Go ahead!

You call me loser, fool, and knave, but your tempest I will brave! Your judgment makes you your own slave. Well when you’re in your lonely grave, a second chance I know you’ll crave!

You are now where I once was, sweet irony has turned the tables, you’re no longer giving labels. That which ye sow, so shall ye reap, so take a little time to weep, as you lye forever in the deepest sleep. Your destiny is done.

Oh, how the mighty have fallen!

Spitefully yours, Richard Hilford.
