on my floor
face down
where i first met you

won't you meet me again?
pour out your love
& let it consume me
may every drip
drench me
& wash away my tear streaked eyes

wash these bloody hands
oh, open my mouth
fill my lungs with air
so that i will sing a song
oh, la la la

my heart it aches
and this soul
well, it burns for you
my eyes sting with guilt
this tongue, it's peirced with splinters

please whisper softly
drown out all the noise out there
let me taste this moment
the death and rebirth
of me

i run to you
to find my strength
because i'm so lost
and so far down this beaten path
with sticks and thorns
aches in my side
no breath left to breathe

i was wrong
i've fallen down
and i can't do this alone
won't you stay with me?
sing me a sweet song
so i can sing it back to you
i would write my own
but it would be nothing without you
oh, la la la

it's been so long
since these bones could walk
and these muscles, well they don't move
speak to me
i will be listening

i never knew this could be
so painful, but yet so beautiful
here it comes
and i crash
it's happening now

and with this melody
you sing over me
i'm free
oh, la la la

you're what i hold on to
my rescue
i hear your voice echo
a song of love
draw me close
more than ever before
this is all that i desire

i give you everything
you are all i need
a song for the broken
a song of peace
