"thank god for a beautiful day - i feel your love in so many ways"
Today has been one of the best days ever. No scratch that - today has been the very best day of my entire life.
This morning, our church had a "Teen Service" out at Presque Isle. Our youth group lead it all - the worship, prayer, sermon, & everything. But the best part of it was - today was also our teen baptism where 20 some of us teenagers were baptised in Lake Superior!! We sang songs in the beautiful bandshell area, and then the sermon was just all of us teens giving our testimonies (how we came to be a christian) and why we wanted to be baptised. It was so beautiful & perfect & God-filled in every way. Not to forget to mention that Kari & Sarah came out to see me be baptised this morning - that was so sweet & made it so special that they were there!
After the service, everyone walked down to the Pavillion where the baptism took place. The weather was chilly, but it made Lake Superior seem totally natural feeling, and not crazy numb like it usually feels - so it worked out wonderful. The whole church and more came out to watch, and it was so cool seeing all these adults and other teens standing around taking part in such a beautiful thing. Afterwards, we had a huge church picnic at the pavillion & just hung out and had fun.
Reese and I went over to her house after where I helped her pack and clean before leaving for her missions trip! It was fun just getting some one-on-one time with her, since it's been such a very long time. Ilarie came over at 5-ish and us three & Landon went out to Steves house for our big youth group bonfire in celebration of such a huge day!! It was the most fun ever. All my favorite people (well minus Kari & Sarah who don't attend my church, haha) were there having fun, eating smores, singing worship songs around the campfire, just being goofy - it was g-r-e-a-t, GREAT! The best parts of the night were hugs from John (who I haven't seen in the longest time!), marriage plans to JD, attempting to spy on the boys "boy talk" which failed when Judith dug it in the dirt & they all saw out the window, singing our favorite songs with Dave playing guitar, Sonya making me a yummy smore, TJ, Reese, and my "heart-to-heart" in some random bedroom, and the big group prayer around Reese for her missions trip. A PERFECT EVENING after a PERFECT DAY <3333
A big huge bear hug from my bestest made for a sweet goodbye before Reese leaves tomorrow! I love that girl to absolute death and I just pray that she will have amazing, unforgettable, life changing moments on her two week missions trip. I'll missss her but I know God will use her to do amazing things! PRAYERS ARE SENT YOUR WAY MY DARLING! HAVE FUN!
