Karen mentioned that it would be nice for the Doctor to have some equals, because Companions must be like hamsters to him.

Love this follow-up, particularly the description of River as a tiger. That's so accurate, with your "coiled power" line. That's her all over. If she were a tiger, her time in Stormcage would be spent with the end of her tail constantly twitching, ready to leap into action at any moment.
