These two stories were inspired by a video of Matt Smith and Karen Gillan discussing what it would be like if the Time Lords returned.

Karen mentioned that it would be nice for the Doctor to have some equals, because Companions must be like hamsters to him.

So these are a "hamster's eye view" of the Doctor and River.

(If you want, you can add, "She squeaked." as the last line of this fic. As the Companion's response to meeting River Song. :D)

There was a 10Rose fanfic called 'Understanding' in which Rose compared the companions to hamsters. Can we take this to mean that Karen reads fanfic, d'you think? :P

Love this follow-up, particularly the description of River as a tiger. That's so accurate, with your "coiled power" line. That's her all over. If she were a tiger, her time in Stormcage would be spent with the end of her tail constantly twitching, ready to leap into action at any moment.
