May I just say, that is one of the more realistic carnivorous plants I've seen in science fiction? It doesn't grab you with tentacles, it just lets you fall in. And then eats you. Quite, quite slowly.

Anyway, I am continuing to enjoy this story, especially the world-building. Giant Komodo dragons (as if the Earth kind weren't deadly enough), giant butterflies . . . loving it.
