I adore Balzac too. Adia says he's better in French, but I wouldn't know. One of my incentives to learn it better, I suppose.

How is your French coming along? Could you read all of the article?
I'd love to see you again. I've been so lonely these days if you desired the company.
Adia? Yes, I believe she is well, but she hasn't quite been the same since the Beauxbatons attack -- not that she's ever liked me much, anyway-- no, what are you DOING, 'Bastan. Though I haven't seen her since... Wednesday, I think it was.
Re: Private = 'BastanfroideurDecember 12 2004, 06:39:04 UTC
My French? It's...no-where near perfect; I was doing better at my studies when I was in France and had Adia to nag at me and refuse to speak English and things like that. I should pick it up again instead of wasting time making pastries and talking to the dog, who is sadly enough the best company I have lately. It would be nice to see you again as long as you're not planning on killing anyone then to-- even though Percy and Anthony would di--, as long as you're not planning on getting me drunk again although the blanketfort was as I really don't relish waking up hung-over ever again as it was very disconcerting but a bit n--.
She hasn't written me in ages, but I was hoping that's because she's busy with her studies and not busy killing people fretting or anything of that nature.
Re: Private = 'BastanbetadraconisDecember 12 2004, 07:10:54 UTC
Si tu me rends visite, je refuserai de parler Anglais.
And I've sworn off alcohol... for the moment. I decided that I didn't like waking up not knowing what day it was. So I promise to not get you drunk. But you're allowed to build as many blanketforts as you like.
Re: Private = 'BastanfroideurDecember 12 2004, 07:15:24 UTC
Mais...je ne pourrais pas parler de quelque chose d'interessant! Mon Francais est tres banal.
My mother was a lush. She was not very nice when drunk at all and I really don't like drunk people and especially not drunk me. How much did you remember of then and was I really in your lap or was it all--. Blanketfort? Really, and you wouldn't find it silly sober?
Re: Private = 'BastanfroideurDecember 12 2004, 18:28:00 UTC
C'est inutile, M le Flatteur. Je n'ai pas d'espoir!
It is a bit silly, but it's the good sort of silly. You don't appreciate some childish things when you're actually a child, you know? So ironic considering what I said to Ant---
I'm sure she is too, but you'd know best considering you were just there. [Are still there?]

Indeed.
I suppose I'll go back to London. You're in England now, aren't you?
Oh! Wil St Clair is your uncle, isn't he? I'd completely forgotten your connection with him...!

I'm sure Adia's fine; you needn't worry, Kit.

Then we shan't drink. And, yes, perhaps just a bit silly, but only a bit. I enjoyed sitting with you in the blanketfort.
You needn't feel something so insubstantial as "hope". I'm sure she's fine.

There's a pleasant sort of indulgence to it -- pandering to nostalgia and the like.
I could drop by the St Clairs again soon to check up on her, if you'd like?

Perhaps.
Although it's ironic, almost painfully so.
If it's not a bother? I only worry since she's not answering my owls.

Is it?
De rien. I'll drop by within the week -- I'd been meaning to do so anyway.

Oh, yes.

Well, if you were going anyway...

Ouais. Pourquoi?
