It was 74 yesterday in Denver, and as I type it's snowing (a few inches, though none is keeping on the roads, thankfully) or blowing snow. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I love Colorado!
Me in a shop near Main & Prince, Littleton, CO about 12:45 PM on Saturday, March 1, 2008:
Needless to say, yesterday was a great day for me! I spent it with a great friend. :) Although, on a more somber note, I miss my Grandma and realized once more that I really haven't gotten enough love in my lifetime thus far.
I have continued to prepare for the surgery. It is still scheduled for the morning of March 10. Final scheduling & hospital pre-admission will be on Friday. Less than 9 days to go! Also, I bought a new MacBook Pro last week (Penryn, naturally) and I love it!
One of the unexpected side effects is that there is a great piece of free software for the Mac called "HandBrake" which can rip DVD's in various formats, with great picture quality, AND it puts the subtitles directly in the video stream! To top it off, the results play beautifully on my PS3! So I have begun ripping my entire collection, to play it over the network on my PS3. That's pretty freaking sweet.
I also finished watching Star Trek: Enterprise on Thursday night. Great series! I will begin watching The Next Generation (again) late next week. I'm planning to bump my Netflix subscription to 6 at once during my recovery. It should be a good source of entertainment while I'm stuck on the couch.
