Entry: 11/18/06-11/25/06 [Thanksgiving Break]

Nov 26, 2006 00:07

Well, I've had a interesting Thanksgiving break. Quick brief for the lazy ones:
-Did homework extremely early o_O, with the small exception of Tale of Two Cities, which isn't due on Monday. I'll finish that off tomorrow I guess.
-Researched alternatives to original Ski Trip plan in case we didn't hit our quota(Turns out we didn't).
-Won a 6 GB pocket hard drive, a t-shirt, and a clock from $10 worth of raffle tickets.
-Figured out how to try chibi characters for my Tale of Two Cities graphic novel project...somewhat.
-Went to a Christmas party...the day before Thanksgiving xD.
-Found out that Suicide Circle is a incredibly disturbing and bloody movie....the hard way T____T.
-Battle Royale(1) is FREAKY, but definitely not as freaky as Suicide Circle.
-Help setup the Turkey Shoot LAN, administrated it, and played in it too ^.^, giving me a whopping total of 42 service hours.

From the start...
Saturday(HW)- Went to Chinese school. Same old, same old. Took the quiz, which was pretty easy, and then found out my quarter grade (A). Found out from a friend that instead of going to Fremont Chinese school, I can go to Ohlone college on Saturdays for the same amount of time(At the exact same time) and do half the work and not have to do the Cultural Project Fremont Chinese School and Irvington has to do. I was like "WOOOW... that's kind of sad right there...". I also know the Ohlone Chinese teacher(She was my Mandarin 1 teacher), and man, she is really lenient. Did my homework in the afternoon and then went to sleep.

Sunday(HW)- AP Bio objectives all day basically. Did the rest of my homework as well.

Monday(LAN)- Went to LAN setup, Melissa(junior) followed to talk to Rothfuss about Origami club. She left around 10. Created a image for the rentals that included a Lite version of Windows along with all the games we were offering. Melissa was bored out of her mind and left the room to talk on her cellphone for a small bit. Can't blame her, after all, she was the only girl in the room :x. Setting up the image and moving the computers took the majority of the day.

Tuesday(LAN)- This is where the week got tough. I had to install Halo on all the computers in room 61(Yes, that IS the Word Processing room). So, I went and did it...one by one. Man that was a pain in the butt. Took up the entire morning to just install ONE game. Then I had to install Unreal Tournament X_X. Luckily that installer wasn't copy protected so I just installed Unreal Tournament off of the network. Took a matter of minutes to install it in 61.

Wednesday(Christmas Party)- Relaxed in the morning. Then went to Wanda's Christmas party. When I opened the door, Travis ran and jumped across the door. I was like "WOAH!", but at that moment, he slipped and HIT the door :P. Man, Travis wasn't kidding, Wanda crammed food into us like 15 minutes after I arrived o.O. Soon the rest of the guests came(Westley, his sister, Melissa) and we watched Charlie Brown Christmas, Suicide Club/Circle(Ugh...*still remembers first scene*), and bits of V for Vendetta(Watched it already).  When we were watching Suicide Circle, Wanda's friend always said a part was supposed to be funny, but it turns out that every time it was incredibly gory X__X. After that, we mainly just hung out, chatted for a bit and etc.

Thursday(Thanksgiving Day)- Kenneth came over to discuss our Ernst project. Man, we realized how screwed we were. 50 frames...god. So we decided to learn the art of chibi drawing to help get rid of a bit of the stress of the project. After we drew a couple characters, we chilled for the rest of the day. Showed Kenneth WoW Southpark. He was laughing like mad. He also attempted to do DDR...to some extent! He got screwed on beginner cause his footing is wrong. Oh well, he got used to it after a bit. After that, he showed me how to play my Grand Theft Auto 3 game(Yes, I did own a copy of Grand Theft Auto 3 and I haven't played it yet cause I didn't know how to play it right, so there xþ). Man, I don't see how criminals can stand running away from the cops, or how they do it in the first place. I always get busted by a cop when I try stealing a car.

Friday(LAN/"Black Friday")- Man, things are getting crazy these days. People camping outside not for PS3s, oh ho no, they're camping outside for this one clothes sale at like 5 in the morning. Fry's goes insane at this time of year too. I heard the only way to get the good sales(Like all the "Free after rebate" 2 GB flash drives) was to have a friend who worked at Fry's to get it for you O.O. Anyway, setup the last bit of 61 and the LAN begun. Relatively slow at the morning, we didn't break even until around noon. The Bawls drinks sold like mad during the afternoon, which gave us around $400 in profits :O. The Gamecube's Super Smash Brother's Melee, Halo 2, and Xbox 360's Gears of War did pretty well too. My brother and his friends all played CS as well. Those crazy kids, they own too much xD. Bought $4 worth of raffle tickets(It's $1 per ticket).People got to play with the Nintendo Wii that Yahya brought in the afternoon, that was a pretty big hit too. I think the best thing was that we dropped the price like mad. It's $5 entrance fee and $5 for rentals. So if you bring your own computer, you only pay $5 for all of that, verry good deal, no ~.^?

Saturday/Today(LAN/Closing Time)- The morning was a lot more successful. We had lots of kids from Milpitas and American come by to play CS. Did my shift and chilled. Went on my lunch break an hour late to cover for another person, but whatever. That caused me to take my lunch hour nice and slow :P. Since Jay and his friends went to do their homework today, I went to lunch alone. Went to doughnut shop and ordered a sandwich and iced vanilla. While they were making it, I went outside the shop to get a newspaper to read while eating lunch. Argus was the only thing they had left so I just took that one. Went inside and ate my sandwich. Man was it good ^_^. Then drank my iced vanilla while reading the Argus(and listening to music at the same time :P). The front of the sports page was "Hayward Outlasts Irvington". Surprising we even got into the newspaper, but it was the sports section, so I guess we normally dominate high school football news. Front page was about the crazy "Black Friday" shoppers. Still can't believe that Black Friday was this intense. Whatever. Crazier stuff was going on. New York is now so much safer then it was before that many of it's old prisons are now used for TV/movie shootings. Went back and played CS for a small bit, then participated in the raffles. Before the raffle started I bought another $4 worth of raffle tickets(In case you haven't noticed, I'm mainly getting rid of 1's in my wallet). I won a T-Shirt from Summer LAN Kick Off, a clock...calendar...thing, 2 bottles of Bawls, and most importantly, the 6 GB pocket hard drive ^__^. So I got my money's worth back, though the water cooling kit they were giving away looked pretty cool too. Oh wait...we didn't get rid of the Halo images on the 61 computers, so all the computers still think that the Halo CD is still in the "CD drive". Oh well, it's not like the freshman are going to playing Halo in Word Processing when school starts again ~.^
