There was a very large part of him that wished this was more than just a cover date to her. That was nothing new, of course.
Still, that wouldn't stop him from enjoying being here as it was for now. He snagged a drink and a handful of snacks from the table, and tried to mingle, as best he could.

Any lack of conversation on Chuck's part could quite possibly be made up for by Murdock. Sometimes, he just didn't know when to stop talking.

"I used to teach computing at the school," he replied. "Now I'm more a study hall sub-in. Make sure no one breaks anything, or gets into a food fight. They usually don't. Which is nice. Makes the job easy."
He also rambles. That too.

"I fly," he stated matter of factly with a nod. "Right now, I'm teachin' it. It's fun. Specially in that SERF thingy. I got a plane out in the garage, but it don't work right yet."
