swamp thing.
i'm not a fan of this weather, mostly because it almost killed me today.
kevin and i got into a frightening car accident- like the ones in those insurance company commercials where two people are having a conversation and all of a sudden they're smooching a tree. the 'stro slid off the road into a ditch and stopped a foot short of a telephone pole. then another car hit the same icy patch and very nearly hit us. it was a sad sight; the 'stro sunk into the mud and was tilted so much that the door wouldn't open. when the tow truck pulled it out, it looked like it came out of a swamp...which made me think of a good but cheesy horror movie about an astro van/swamp monster.
the ironic thing is that we had just finished doing two good deeds: dropping off ten huge boxes of food at a food pantry and a bunch of clothes to benefit a homeless shelter. doing nice stuff is dangerous i suppose.
in other news, the hunger cleanup is OVER. everybody showed up, worksites were good, the italian luncheon was delicious, and we collected a ton of stuff and raised a lot of money. oh, and we have ridiculous amounts of food leftover- though i gave a lot of it away today.
next weekend is exciting; ballroom dance lessons start back up, book sale, ralph nader at bcc, and the other cleanup.
