the last polka.
i'm on the front page of the advocate this week. as in, an article i wrote...in an actual, real publication. the article itself isn't exactly hard-hitting news, but it's still there. i'm very excited.
since she must think my writing is good enough for the front page, she might keep me on as a freelancer when my internship is over. i hope. if not, i basically got a job working for masspirg over the summer if i need it, working on environmental issues. either way, i pretty much have a job for the summer at least, and if i don't, i have big plans for a cross-country dennis kucinich campaign (or at least two house parties). i also heard about a possible p.r. position at wild oats in a few months, which i would love.
saving up some money will be helpful in my future business and traveling endeavors (before i'm too old to want to do anything but sit on a porch and drink unsweetened iced tea and listen to records). i've decided that i want to do one or all or some of these things with my life:
run a bed and breakfast
open a small but delicious vegetarian restaurant
open an antique shop/used bookstore
start a pet-sitting operation
become a journalist
i'd like to visit a lot of places. where i'll go in the next year, regardless of whether i can afford it: mexico, montreal, and hopefully ireland. i keep daydreaming about belize, so i'll have to go back there, too.
i'm going to be happy with what i do. that's all that matters to me. that, and getting real good at ballroom dancing.
