The Blush Inc + some other reviews!

May 03, 2014 02:30

Hey everyone!

This is is a really old piece from TBI but I finally wore it out, and hence, a review! However, the piece is no longer available, but who knows, someone may stumble on someone reselling this dress out there! :)

TBI Ferris Skater Dress in Spring Green (L)

Here's the modeled pic previously from the site.

The color is more true to my pic, but there's not much difference. I absolutely love the color as I hardly have it in my wardrobe! The material feels like jersey cotton and it's really thick and luxe. I feel it's made of very good material. Am not sure if it will fur though. Nevertheless, of good material. Comes with inner satin like lining, which I feel is redundant though because the material of the dress is already thick enough. I don't find it too hot though. It's a very simple dress but I think the cut is really flattering, with slight puffy sleeves which I like (because too puffy may make your arms look overly big.) The dress comes with a side zip for easy wearing & it is stretchable. I altered the dress by a good 1 inch because I prefer to wear my dresses longer as I have heavy thighs. If anyone stumbles across this piece, it's a good buy!

Also, I recently got the Leia Parasol Midi Skirt in Black from LAB from a reseller as it is sold out. The material is fabulous. Sturdy and relatively thick, and the cutting is really good. I prefer midis to start their pleats right from the top as I feel it makes the hips look less huge. However, I overestimated myself and got an L, which is far too big for me. Thus, no pics. A really good buy if you can find resellers, please size down. If you're in between sizes,  go for the smaller one as wearing it high waisted would be more flattering. Am thinking of taking it to the tailor for altering because I really like the cutting and quality, but pls do comment if you're interested.

I also tried the Venezia Midi skirt from TBI- I find that the sizing runs very big- I'm a usual L, and I was between an S and M. Also, I think the cutting is not flattering, it makes the hips look huge because the pleats don't start right from the top.

Also, I recently managed to find a reseller of the LB Covet Fairfield Frock in Crimson (L) at a really good price after searching for it for ages (I know this dress was launched ages ago!) The dress is of superb workmanship, material and cutting. A very good buy indeed, worth the hefty price. Everything fits well except my bust (36C), and thus I feel that the dress is not suitable for busty girls. Hence, I'm letting it go, do comment if interested :)
