Hello, girls!
It's been a long while.
Love Bonito's Covet Juliette Dress in Ivory is a pretty piece but leans more towards yellow than white. If I had known that, I would have probably opted for Daffodil instead. But nvm that, since it turns out pretty and editable on pictures, and I also got myself the Periwinkle one anyway. Colour is the biggest disappointment for me, apart from the fact that it doesn't feel or look like a $52 dress. The price, to be honesty, is certainly not justified. I would have paid more for Daniella Dress than this, and Daniella is way more luxe in terms of the bodice's satin finish and quality mesh at the skirting. Nonetheless, the embroidery on Juliette is unique. I guess that means I've paid for workmanship rather than fabric. Fit wise, this dress is rather perfect. I like it best for the baby doll cut it has, being high-waisted (my favourite). I'm someone with big ribs for a UK4-6 frame, so I really like how I seem to fill this whole dress up. I wear XS snugly with no allowance!
Love Bonito's Tatiane Maxi is a beauty, and even more so in Dusty Pink. I would have loved it more in Mauve just because pink is too sweet for someone like me in the mid twenties, and less timeless than nudes and earth tones in my opinion. But meehhh, it doesn't come in Mauve! I love how it's of a length that doesn't require me to alter it. Yay to that. Material wise, chiffon is the best choice for a grecian inspired dress like this. It lends flow and an ethereal silhouette to girls of any shape and size. I guess that's what makes it a perfect bridesmaid's dress. I'm all for my bridesmaids in long dresses as opposed to tea/cocktail length. That's just me and I know it's not popular in Singapore, but I would really urge for anyone who is about to get married to consider long dresses for your bridesmaids! Tatiane in XS fits me ok, but can afford to be tighter at the PTP. Boning at the bodice adds great shape to the top, pseudo softened by the toga feature. Love this one to bits!
Megagamie's Stacy Mesh Tutu Skirt in Creme has a cream (leaning to orangey cream) on the inside, with cream (leaning to white) on the outside. Blended together in a ratio of two:five, it's a poof-y and princess-y piece that has secured itself a permanent place in my wardrobe. I love tulle. It is dreamy, soft and lets me indulge in my ballet dreams. Fit wise, XS is perfect for me to wear it high-waisted. It comes with a concealed hook and zip, easy to wear and easy on the eyes. Material wise, Megagamie has opted for mesh that is way softer than AforArcade. Though that makes it so much more comforting to the touch, it messes up way easier and requires tending to from time to time. I would personally prefer it in stiffer mesh like the AforArcade midi tulle skirt has. I'm now also considering this in Mint.
Love Bonito's Ledea Dress is no stranger to me, but feels like a new dress because since I've crossed over the 25 mark, my slowed-down metabolic rate has been helping me fill up my dresses a whole lot more. I used to own this in Periwinkle and had to hold it up with a belt. It also required my constant upward tugging throughout the day. This time though, it seems to be glued to me. Zero allowance, and very flattering for my non-existent boobs. It no longer needs a belt, which is the way I love to wear my dresses now - clean. I am so glad I took a stab at this and carted out Black because it is so classy. Nevermind that the details are overwhelmed by the severe colour, I just love it! I'm considering getting Ledea in White now. It's quite the easy piece to wear anywhere, and easily paired with a ballet flats. It's a pretty one to own. Price is justified too!
MDS's Forest Zest Top in Green has CameotheLabel prints that everyone seems to love. Funny how this piece is not so great on me. I think geometric prints don't work on me and the slimming effect the cut gives is bamboo-ing me into an all-time thin. Meh. I've taken a photo of myself in it with the top tucked out to show you the length of it. I would personally probably wear it tucked into a high-waisted pair of white/black shorts. Looking at it, I don't think I can carry off the chic look with white cropped pants because I'm just too thin for a look like that. Pity, really, because this piece is a stunner, just not on me. Do follow me on @shopshers on Instagram. I think I might sell this soon after I've worn it once!
AforArcade's Chantel Off Shoulder Dress is a delayed purchase on my part, but for good reason I think! I immediately regretted getting this the moment I pulled it out of the clear plastic. The material is stiff and creasy, the kind I dislike to steam iron and really, just has a pretty print on a fabric that is below expectation. I should have gone for the single coloured ones instead. Those look softer and thicker. Major regret! That aside, it has the most vibrant colours and gorgeous print that is not repeated elsewhere on other designs or at other blogshops. I love how the fuchsia and peach pop against the dark navy base. You should know that zipping this piece in XS up is a pain. Four hands were needed to zip me up earlier, but like I mentioned, I have big ribs. So if you're a regular uk4-6, you should not have so much of a problem. I'll be letting this go on @shopshers soon after my first wear. Keep a lookout!
