I bought the Business Times Skirt but was rather disappointed when it arrived and I tried it on last Thursday.
My usual waist measurements are ~13.5", so obviously I purchased Size M (14" waist). It was way too big.
I measured and the waist turned out to be 14.5". Naturally, LLP was not going to do anything about it since like most BS, their policy on measurements is that 0.5-0.75" was well within the (in)accuracy threshold and they were also sold out on Size S (13" waist, which I am guessing could have also run big).
They advised to tighten with the sash instead which I am not too uncomfortable with as I do not like to have to rely on belts or the like and tailoring is going to be tedious due to the size zip and inner lining.
0.5-0.75" laid flat may seem like a minute amount and may be all right length wise. However, it certainly makes a big difference for other areas like the waist or hips, shoulders or ptp where circumference is concerned, as it is no longer 0.5-0.75" but 2 x (0.5-0.75").
And I do not think I am the only person who received a piece that ran big as I saw another post on AgnesMaurice wanting to trade for Size S.
Some shoppers may feel that this is the downside of online shopping where we cannot try on the goods but I feel it does help a lot if BS were to take the extra effort to measure more accurately or more importantly, do more sampling and verify that the goods are of the same measurement as what they ordered.
Haha obviously I am quite upset and doubting that the measurements for the whole batch (of Size M at least) was not accurate as stated and I think if the measurements had been 13.5", 14.5" and 15.5" for Size S, Size M and Size L respectively and stated as so, then the item may not have been as saleable. Conspiracy theory much.
They have quite nice work wear collections and seem to be very good reviews on customer service but I will be avoiding future purchases with them as I now do not trust the accuracy of their measurements. Trying at KissJane may not be possible as their popular pieces are sold out or do not get stocked. Well, another shop to add to my list of shops who do not provide accurate measurements, with the other being MSF.
This is my first purchase with them but will also be my last.
