Human Giant
well almost a month later..
lets see..i was at work one day and andria IMed me and was like there is a positon for a PA opening on this pilot send me ur resume! so i was like ok ok! Andria works at Mtv..so i sent it to her..and the next thing i know while i was out at lunch the production coordinator had called me. So i called him back..we talked and it was to start right away meaning id have to quit the lawyers like that day but for some reason i was stupid and talked myself into an interview..which i dont think he was gonna do one.. but i got myself one the next day. After some thought and talking to davin and lou i was like if i get it that day i am just gonna start that day too and leave Mr joes. Which then I later told him (mr joe -the lawyer) and he was like no i understand its what u want to do and love so of course take the job. So I go for the interview and then he is like ok we just have to meet with one more person but ill call u back around 1130. SO i am going to the elevators and who is on them when it opens my little andria. SO i just go hang with her. Then he calls me back and i got hte job. Paul who the production manager (ha he played peter brady in the sequals very brady this or that) anyways.. he was super cool and nice.. and then there was Joanna she was the writers assistant ..also nice. and for the first days it was us really..and then the producers and like locations this guy arron ..and they were scrambling to hire all the other positions still. So Oh right it was this show called Human Giant which is a sketch comedy with Aziz Ansari, Rob Heubel and Paul Scheer.. they were all there too cause they are the writers besides being the talent.. Anyways, the show is super funny well the scripts were..
BUT I GOT LET GO AFTER 3 days ..
and here are the reasons why(or my reasons why):
but right durrin the days id be all over the place busting my ass doing shit for the people that were there.. not just for paul or joanna.. anyone who needed me id do it.. I was given this thing called A script breakdown to do?!? i had never done one b4 ..and in between doing that i kept having to go on runs..and this guy Jason kept coming over asking if it was done.. and it'd be everytime i would come back from the store..! and the script breakdown is like everytime a prop comes into a scene..or new talent or the scene changes..but the thing was i DIDNT WRITE THIS! this isnt my show! so how was i supposed to say HEY! this is a party scene i want red plastic cups..i want the extras to be wearing hipster clothes.. its not my show! haha..so then when he gets it he was like hmm theres alot missing for wardrobe and props! it was kindda like wellll.. i just went with what was stated was needed and the obivous like if the scene was in a school then obviously they needed desks..or books! but i cant say well i want the school to have this or that.. its not my show! Little things like that kept happening.. it was so disorganized..
#2 This now is on the monday when we got the production manager her name was kristal .. Joanna had said to me hey can order the guys lunch they want ollies ..sure thats no big deal.. but instead of just telling me to do it..she half does it.. i mean she gives me the menus but then prints out more i can easily photo copy some and distribute and take control of the siguation.. becuase the guys (paul, rob, aziz and some others were in teh confrence room while jason and steve were in their office) so i give jason and steve a menu.. then i go to the confrence room pass them a few.. and i wait a lil but go back to teh confrence room and check on them and im like i dont have to wait in here and aziz is like no this is good ur making us get it done we are too slow.. so i get their order and while im in there i guess jason had brought his out.. and STUPID kristal takes his orders it ! without knowing what was going on.. so now there are 2 orders gooing on.. and then i have to order the guys food.. and when i do we dont have the c/c because Paul the production coordinator is not as his desk and he carried it on him.. so then their food arrives (the 2 orders) i have to go down and get it because kristal paid with cash.. and when it come steve is now in their with teh guys ...everyones like go in ask if he wants it.. im like but the other food isnt here.. but so i do anyways.. and hes like but is their food here?? and im like no hes like no just put it in my office.. NOW that makes me look dumb! AND ONCE AGAIN NONE OF IT WAS MY FAULT! but it looks like it because i was the one who was handeling lunch.
#3 so also on that day we had production meetings which were my first ever..haha which i found cool.. it made me feel important.. and it was interesting also. Plus sitting in meetings with those guys is sooo funny they tell jokes durring them. Now after the 2nd meeting the writers stayed and Joanna came to me and said hey can u get paul the new latest Spin Magazine!? ...well sure i can. Now this was around I believe 8pm or so ... So i walk down broadway there are some newstands and i ask teh one guy I said do u have the newest Spin magazine and he was like thats coming tomorrow.. I wasnt quite sure if he understood me..so i kept walking and went to the Duane Reade .. and they had Spin and I wasnt sure if it was the newest one.. cause i feel liek they are always the month ahead..so i go up to the lady and just ask knowing she prob has no idea..but i buy it anyways. Then one more newstand i figure... So i ask for Spin magazine and the asian girl gives me a Glamour..I was like i said Spin? she just smiled plus she was on her cell phone..and i was like No forget it. ANd so i went back.. I get back and paul and Kristal were there and i said to Paul where is Joanna I have spin for Paul Scheer.. and hes like oh he wants that cause he is in it. So then Kristal is like look through it to find it and bookmark it for him. So I look and i see nothing..I go down to Joanna where the meeting was..and i call her over and shes liek did u find him? (meanwhile she had not told me at all why i was buyin it!!!! she just said the latest spin) If she had said Oh look through Spin at the store if u find Paul in it buy it..SHE WOULD HAVE SAVED TIME AND MONEY! shes a fucking idiot.. so then shes like well if hes not in it im not gonna waste his time bringing it to them.. ok well just bring it back upstairs...
#4 Also with Scripts copying them and getting them together and what not ..Joanna would make a bunch of copys and make a mess..she would make these piles that just didnt make sense..it would have made sense to make one copy and then just copy that one but shed make a bunch of one sheet then have to make packets from it..which was so time consuming....She was so all over the place i wish now that i had said something like lets do it this way, but i didnt.
SOooooooo tuesday morning I was getting ready to go in teh shower and my cell rings..its Kristal the production manager ..."hey I just wanted to catch u before u came from Long island..well we talked and i just dont think u are strong enough for this postion right now.. u know..we have to prep/tape/wrap in a month... and Joanna is gonna need someone who can help her........I am sorry.. U know i know alot of things going on at mtv and I will pass along ur name" = me "oh yeah i understand right right..yeah thanks that's nice of u"
basically.. fuck her..becuase she was there for a day.. and she really had no clue of anything iw as doing.. i would not eat lunch.. i was helping like 4 people..joanna was a fucking mess.. she had really no clue about the show itself yet! she hadnt read the scripts..she didnt even know the guys.. she made this remark at the first production meeting when it was me, her, paul, steve and this girl erin.. "she was like i see some of the guys live in la and we are just putting them up in NY right now.. are they using their own cells or are they trying to get ones out of us???" HAHAHHA i was like oh my god lady u dont even know them.. they are so not like that.. and then steve replied with they are really down to earth guys.. u should talk to them.. Like she was thinking they are some sorta divas and trying to get money and all these high class shit from the shows budget. Meanwhile they prob would do all the things for themselves. Plus she came in and was ALLLLLLL over aaron with locations.. right i know its her job to make sure everyone is doing their jobs and things run smoothly.. but he is locations thats his job.. he knows his shit...and the first time i had come back from shopping when she was there I gave the credit card back to paul..and shes like did u give back the credit card..and i was like yeah i gave it to paul.. shes like ohh no no u always give it back to where u got it from.. and i was like well I was just used to giving it back to him thats what i have done the last 2 days. HA she was such a fucking bitch walking in like she owned the place ..she needed to simmer down and take in a little of what was happening before she had gotten there.
I can only understand so much about that it was a tight schedual and i did have to learn a bunch of the paper work ...but other than that i really don't think it was fair.
so that was that.. I mean i reallly really would have loved to been on when we shot on location and watched all the tapeing becuase those guys are so so funny and sooo nice. Paul scheer SOOOo nice.. he was so friendly and he was like one time hey thanks for working with us..hahah i was like no thanks for having me. And one time i was stuck outside the office cause i still didnt have my card and he came i was like yes! and i dunno we talked about the cards and doors..but hes just a super friendly nice guy. And i also would have gotten to work with Lauren my freind lorraines roomate.. which would have been so much fun.. Plus i would have gotten the expierence.
But hey what u can do..but move on. (and also get that long rant out like i just did now)
definitely watch it when its on mtv u are gonna laugh! the skits are so funny.
