Ack, I think this is gonna help me start with the whole 'choosing faves' because that's what I kept choosing (maybe whenever I get a few more minutes) <3 I picked a couple from the first half of the year and they'll hopefully inspire you :) Feel free to not do anything with them, heh. I know how hard it is to give a new spin to something you were already proud of!
Thank you so much! Those were absolutely perfect choices! I loved the quote in 1), but not the execution (the font is too large, meh). I am very happy with how the first remake turned out. I like 2), but I could see things I could try with it, and you caught me in an experimental mood, so... colors and a gif happened. :D and 3) is Bai Yu, who I'll always love to icon again, and this one was pretty basic before and I tried to do something *special* with it this time around, so... another gif. :) (Although I admit I like the grungy non-gif version better. I like it a lot, in fact. Much better than the original icon.)

The last two gifs are "identical", just one of them is LJ-compatible with <40KB, the other one is DW-compatible with <60KB.

Yay I'm glad they inspired you! I love where you took them :D The text in the first couple is still hilarious! The Janet one is very fun, hee, and the gif is also quite interesting. And the Bai Yu one is lovely - love the pic in the still one and the super cute gifs ♥ You're right that it's possibly even better than the original - everything about the color just works *_*
