happy long-ass thursday, my little decapod crustaceans! and happy birthday to

things are indeed happening. jacob, super boyfriend that he is, has almost single-handedly moved all my stuff to my new place. my dad came up to help with the big two-person stuff, and annie went on a crazy cleaning whirlwind. they are awesome. this all rules the school.
as does the fact that i now can walk. i'm have a limp, and i have to walk pretty slowly and carefully, but at least it means i can carry things, and i don't have to hop around on one foot all the time. i had packed up all my left shoes, thinking i wouldn't need them for a while anyway, but last night we went by the new place and got a couple so i can walk outdoors. i still keep my crutches nearby in case i need to move faster (i.e. answer the door or the phone at work). i'm also still wearing the brace, and i think that and the limp should be enough for me to be able to get a motorized cart at target and home depot. i can walk, but in big stores i'd still rather not; it just takes forever and it kind of wears me out.
so, i have decided that if jacob (and i?) can move my bed to the new place today i will start living there, since the stairs are not a total death trap to me anymore. it still needs some work here and there, but at least i can start settling in a little.
yay, improvement. i'm not going to be able to do the running man anytime soon, but i am getting a little better every day.
