and home in time for king of the hill ("prepare your brain for razzle-dazzle!")

a pretty nice birthday, if i do say so myself. oddly enough, i wasn't able to spend it with old friends or my significant other, but all was well. my mom and i went out to lunch (i didn't have to work after all) and tonight after gamelan nyoman declared that he was treating everyone to drinks at town hall, in honor of my birthday, and probably because he's been trying to drag us there all semester anyway.

i was kind of reluctant, although i was happy to be doing something on my birthday, since i don't have a really huge appreciation for being 21, not being a big fan of the alcohol anyway. but it was an offer i couldn't refuse. i had an obligatory few sips of beer, but quickly switched to ginger ale to settle my stomach (taco bell earlier in the evening, plus there was a lot of smoking going on). drinking and smoking are not my bag. i guess because i have plenty of other vices. i don't feel a need to add to the list.

but anyway. it was good times. gamelan people are good people. and that's the reason i wanted to go out in the first place. i have become awfully reclusive recently for a so-called extravert and i would have definitely felt like a lamer if i had come straight home after rehearsal. so i greatly appreciated tonight. love those kids.

ok, it's hot as butt in here but i have to go to sleep. where's my wife-beater?

and so begins another year in the life of me. thanks for the well wishes, everyone ©

birthday
