In flander's field the poppies blow between the crosses row upon row.

well, now that it appears that the american government is somewhat turning around and start to be held accountable for the deplorable state in which we find ourselves, my decision to feel to the north almost seems redundant. perhaps i won't have to stay as a refugee in the true north, strong and free for the rest of my life.
in related news, today is rememberance day in canada, and going to the ceremony made me realize that there are people on all sides in wars that die that should be honored too. though on veteran's day and memorial day in the US, and rememberance day in canada, the focus is on the allies in WWII, there were people that died on all sides of the war that were answering the call of their countries. these people, be they german, canadian, italian, american, or japanese, died to defend their homes too, and so when you think of veterans, remember that just because a soldier died on the wrong side of the war that he is not due just rememberance as well.
