Romance

Right now work is my main priority. Mostly because work translates into money. Money translates into an assortment of fabulous things - good food, opshop finds, CDs, rent, alcohol, and as Soong would say "Party Party!". I plan to "Party Party!" so unbelievably hard when Arnika comes back. In just short of four weeks, we will be reunited! And there will most definitely be hugs, maybe tears coz I'm a wuss wuss wuss and a big 'ol dessert spoon, no no, a big 'ol ladle full of Party Party!
Getting stressed out at work severely halted my ability to party at Joe's party on Friday night. It was a stunner of a get-together, complete with make-your-own pretentious badges, so many pairs of skinny jeans and sunglasses worn inside. Argh! Scene-fest! Hipster-fest! Which roughly translates to: HA HA HA HA what fun! It was great. Although because I was sober, I got tired and didn't want to stand around looking bored, when really I had simply had the life taken out of me by a day's work from 12-8pm.

Yesterday I worked 2-8pm. Around 6.55pm I was so hungry I raided the snack box for a nut bar. I was good, it was either the chocolate bar (sugar=will satisfy momentarily but then will dissolve and do bad things in blood) or nut bar (nuts=potential protein which stomach will enjoy digesting and will satisfy for longer) and I took the latter. I rang Chris at about 7.30pm and to ask him to come early and hang out till 8pm, coz he was picking me up. He said no, he had to finish his cleaning jobs around the house.
Fair enough I suppose.
Anyway so 8pm comes, I lock up the place and go down to meet him and Rhonda. Get in the car, driving home, I'm getting hungrier. We're having nachos, it was decided earlier in the day. Damn, I think, I don't really want nachos, I want something big and yum. Oh well. Open the front door, just as we're about to go into the lounge Chris looks behind at me with this knowing look. I think, hang on, it's our four and a half year anniversary today, I knew that this morning when he said "Happy four and a half year anniversary!". And there's this bowl on the table, and he asks me to lift up the teatowel. And it's crackers and cheese! At first I don't get it, but then I smell a familiar smell. Vegetarian cannelloni! And I grin like an idiot, and I hug him and realise he's not been cleaning, well he had been cleaning, but he had also been preparing a wonderful meal and he had cleared the house of flatmates and put this awesome bottle of wine in the fridge we've been keeping for ages and oh oh oh we had chocolate pudding too.
And we put on the new Girl Groups of the 60s CD I bought from the Warehouse and danced away. Like idiots. But happy happy idiots, grinning and hugging.
