So my boss has finally got a relatively good version of the software we need for captioning and keywording photos.
And it's fuckin horrible.
Everyone I tell about my job, "oh yeah I keyword and caption tabloid images of celebrities", responds with "wow, what a great job! how did you get it?". But really, everytime I go down to Subway for lunch I envy the girl topping up the lettuce tray with shredded bags of the stuff. The guy cutting the bread. The guy asking me if I'd like to make it a meal. I'm not trying to say their jobs are awesome - the same set of people are working whenever I go in there (which is often random days) which suggests they work full-time. Making sandwiches all day is not my idea of fun. But at least the stress level is relatively low. You can fuck up someone's sandwich but you can't fuck up an entire catalogue of pictures and set yourself back two hours just because you clicked the wrong button.
That happened today! A joyous occasion for all.
The best thing about working there is Krystal and Kristal (ha, cute right?), who work there full-time. They're fantastic. Krystal just gave me a ride home, and we bitched about work the whole way. There's nothing which will bring people close together like a bitch about work-related stuff. It's always comforting to know that I'm not the only one who is stressed and frustrated and disappointed. And looking for other jobs all the time...
Camera Obscura will make it better. Calm me down.
I have two assignments due next Friday, neither have been started yet. But that's what tomorrow is for. And the weekend. And maybe tonight.
Amee and Ryan left today for the States, along with the rest of the Brunettes. I rang Amee from work around 2, she seemed good and not too stressed. I'm so thrilled for them. But a little sad it seems many of my friends are overseas having a good time when I am feeling that I'm neither here nor there. Work is weird, uni is weird, some friends are weird, craccum is weird. Hmph.
What shall I have for tea? I think I'll make a bean salad and corn cobs and perhaps cous cous. Mmm. I'm sure you were all itching to know that!
