PODFIC BIG BANG: Betas and Covers and Soundtracks, OH MY!

So, I did pretty much everything for the first round of podficbigbang EXCEPT submit an actual podfic. And anyone who has paid attention to any of the comment threads between reena_jenkins and myself over the last, oh, TWO MONTHS has probably been privy to at least a part of what we've been up to.

My "official" roles were as follows:

So cool! I love the thoughts behind the casting, thanks for writing them out! I have my own very clear images of what the kids look like, of course, but they're not based on any RL kids/actors so I couldn't begin to cast them myself either. I did have to laugh at bb!PJ being Cody from Dexter, though, because I wrote HNTF thinking a little of Astor and Cody being around the same ages for the more recent seasons of Dexter (and having lost both parents too, though hopefully neither John nor Rodney is quite a serial killer psychopath).

(Incidentally, I had a bit of inspiration for later!Nora and later!PJ from United States of Tara, another show with the same sibling pairing, this time with the hot slightly weird older sister and the gay younger brother being the strongest parallels.)

Hah, that is some awesome coincidence right there with the casting of PJ! Great minds think alike? Or possibly just the fandom hive brain? (And at your comment, now I'm just thinking of that fic "John" where John basically IS Dexter XD)

(I have never see that show, although I know of it, but I just wiki'd it, and between that and what you've said, now I kind of want to! DAMMIT, I DO NOT NEED MORE TV SHOWS!!! *facepalm*)

You can now! I think it's a fairly recent change though. Anyway I only know because xenakis just posted a cover for a fic of mine and we were able to link them up there through something she did. It was magical and stuff.

So, I have a night shift job that is 10% fast, important work and 90% MUST ENTERTAIN SELF FOR ALERTNESS. Which, in my case, means I get to listen to podbooks on the Ipod much of the night. I took your tricked-out version of podklb's This Never Happened and between the wonderful story, your seamless and excellent music effects, and podklb's gripping rendition of story and Not-story, I was hooked enough to finish this am before sleep. Excellent work on the music & sound effects: discrete and not overwhelming, and apropo even when I had no idea of the source of the music. The total package rocked greatly, thank you also for the director's commentary on the effects. Total yay! all around.
