New York updates, my new camera, jewelry for sale, & more...

Jul 02, 2008 00:31

So it turns out that we're seeing "The Little Mermaid" TONIGHT instead of Thursday (I got the date wrong), and Dad & Summer went and got four tickets to "Gypsy" (with Patti Lupone!) at TCKTS this morning, so we're seeing that tomorrow afternoon, and then tomorrow night we've got "In The Heights"--so the next 48 hours are going to be wonderfully Broadway-filled! :DDD

In other news, I am totally IN LOVE with my new camera! Uncle Mark and I went to B&H (the HUGE professional photography & video store in NY) yesterday and got me a nice bag (which was like 1/3 of the price it normally is, since it's technically used, but you can't even tell), a UV filter, and a lens cleaning pen. That place is AWESOME, you guys. Their method of using conveyor belts to get stuff around the store is like, WAY cool. Anyway, so yeah...I'm loving my new camera ^^ Check out some shots I've taken with it:

All of these photos are COMPLETELY UNEDITED, with the exception of resizing & sharpening (to compensate for the blur you get from resizing). And adding the border, of course. Also, all photos were taken by me, unless otherwise specified.

I really love the lighting here.

...okay, it's not the best picture ever, but it was too hilarious not to include XD

My mom says she never looks good in photos. I disagree.

This chocolate shop is called "Chocolate By The Bald Man", and it's DELICIOUS.

These are inside the Chelsea Market.

In still other news...as many of you RL peeps know, I've gotten really into making jewelry (particularly earrings) in the past year or so. I'm getting ready to start selling them on Etsy.Com, so I've been taking pictures. Tell me what you guys think! (If anyone's interested in actually buying any, leave me a comment! Most of the earrings are $5, with a couple exceptions, the necklaces are $10, and the bracelets are $15. Shipping is always $5, but you can combine orders.)

Sooo...that should be it for now! I'm off to see Little Merms soon--I can't wait! I'll tell ya'll how the shows all were tomorrow evening or Thursday morning :)

ETA: JUST GOT BACK FROM LITTLE MERMAID. IT WAS AMAZING, GUYS. SHERRI RENE SCOTT, HAVE MY BBZ PLZ. ALSO, THE BACKSTAGE TOUR WAS AMAZING BEYOND BELIEF. I AM SO JEALOUS OF THEIR FLYSPACE, OMG. AND THEIR LIGHTING CAPABILITIES!!! *DED* MORE LATER, WHEN I AM LESS OF THE DEDNESS. (Also, the kid who played Flounder was AWESOME and Summer should date him, and also also, we briefly met the guy who plays Chef Louis backstage ^^)
