Notes: Written for the Star Trek XI Kink Meme prompt "Sulu/Chekov. Chekov's parents are overprotective of their little boy wonder, and don't think Sulu is good enough for him (because of race/religion/age/whatever) and it upsets him. Comfort ensues. Comfort could be anything, really, from snuggling/hair petting to sex."
Chekov closed the video link and flopped back on his bed. Usually he enjoyed his conversations with his mama and papa. When they had caught sight of Sulu lounging on their son's bed in the background, catching up on some reading, Mama and Papa had had some questions.
"I know you are a gay, Pasha, but aren't there nicer boys on the ship?"
"Hikaru is nice," Chekov protested, "he is very good to me."
"Isn't he too old for you?"
Sulu idly twirled one of Chekov's curls around his finger as he continued to read. "Did you have a nice chat," he asked.
"Terrible."
Sulu sighed and put down the screen he had been reading. Usually Pavel was giddy after a coversation with his parents and ready to talk for hours about the news from home.
"Come here," Sulu held his arms open to his boyfriend, who snuggled up against him and wrapped his arms tightly around him. "What was so terrible?"
It was hard to make out what was being said when Chekov buried his face against Sulu's neck. "It vas terrible. Mama and Papa, they do not approv." This was followed by a few sniffles.
Sulu snaked his hand up underneath Chekov's shirt to reassuringly rub circles on his upper back.
"I know I wouldn't automatically approve of my underage son's boyfriend I'd never met, but if he made my son happy I'd understand."
"But they tink you are not a nice boy."
"Don't worry about it. They just need some time. Besides-- what are they going to do about it?"
Chekov chuckled and kissed Sulu.
"You are good to me," he mumbled between kisses.
