this is serious.

*3 large eggs
*1 tsp sugar
*2 tsp soy sauce
*1 saucer vegetable oil
*a pinch of hondashi
*chopstix
*piece of paper towel
*A RECTANGULAR PAN (key factor)

to make your tamagoyaki, make sure you have 3 times the amount of listed ingredients and a lot of time on your hands to begin with because you will most assuredly fuck up the first few tries.

1. beat eggs, sugar, dashi and shoyu together in a bowl
2. heat a bit of oil in the pan
3. add sugar or soy sauce to taste
4. TURN DOWN heat, pour 1/4 of mixture into pan, spreading evenly over pan surface
5. when that's half-done, roll the omelet towards from you with chopsticks then push to the other end of the pan
6. use paper towel to dab more oil onto exposed pan surface
7. pour another 1/4 of egg mix into pan, lifting the edge of the roll to securely adhere the new part to it
8. once this layer's done, roll again and push again
9. and again 2 times with the dabbing, pouring, rolling and pushing action
10. eat! or if you're worn out by then just wrap in a sushi mat before popping into the fridge.
