[At just around sunset, Yupunzel will get a quiet knock on her door. The knock is softer than it normally is since Lavi is supposed to take it easy on his hands, but it's the same odd knock that always accompanies him when he comes to see her. The timing is quite a bit off from their usual routine. Normally around nightfall, he sticks pretty close ( Read more... )

[Luck for Lavi, Kanda isn't generally overly active in the evenings. She'll answer the door shortly, a little surprised to see him outside of routine.]

[Leans forward to kiss her on the cheek, nuzzling a bit before taking a step back]

There's something I'd like to take you to see, yeah.

[Tilts his head thoughtfully to one side, blinking as if something had just occurred to him]

Have you eaten dinner yet?

[Tilts his head as he does so. Something to see?

Nods.] I have. Why?

[No, not yet. But there will be plenty to see soon enough. He takes her hands in his, not actually gripping (his fingers don't quite work that way yet), but still holding. And then he starts to guide her down the hallways]

Because if you didn't, we'd have to pick something up. But you did, so we don't have to worry about that.

[Smiles at her]

Still doing okay? None of those injuries came back to haunt you?

[Kanda will make up for the lack of grip on his end, though she can't remember his hands getting that damaged when he went through.]

I'm fine. I haven't seen anything from that hall again. [And the events with Alma have been pushed to the backburner again.]

[He went through a lot of Horror Halls himself. The place hates him or something. Met up with Dreams. Nasty business and got candles shoved through his hands, though he keeps them well bandaged and covered with his gloves as to not worry anyone. They'll heal in time. They always do]

That's good to hear, yeah. [Still smiling and quasi-tugging. Down to a courtyard a few hallways down]

I might have something to help ease your mind regardless. If you don't mind spending a good part of the night with me and my antics.

I don't. [When does she ever mind?]

[Oh, he doesn't mean it like that, Yupunzel. It's just different from her routine, and he knows she likes her routine. He doesn't know what she does before bed anyway, and he would hate to be a bother. Not that he thinks he's a bother. It's just... complicated. Or perhaps he thinks too much. Most likely the latter. Lavi puts way too much thought in the simplest things]

[Regardless, he'll be leading her back to that beach they found. The one with the artificial lighting. And he's planning on taking her right to the water's edge]

[She'll follow along beside him, glancing once to their joined hands.

Looks up at him when they reach the edge of the water.] Here?

Yes, here.

[Though when they get near the edge of the water, Kanda will see that it's not totally bare sand and water. Lavi has been preparing a few things. There is a small raft-looking thing, no wider than maybe a foot or two adorned with a bright paper lantern. And sitting on the raft is this bouquet with a tiny card attached to it that says in neat and clean cursive "Alma Karma"]

I thought we might try to help you find some peace today, yeah.

[Looks over at the raft, taking a moment to lean closer to see what the card says. A pause, before looking back at Lavi. She doesn't really get it.] With this?

Yeah, with this.

[Taking one of the white daisies out of the bouquet and threading it into Kanda's hair]

Daisies, the flower of innocence, yeah. And Alma was innocent before the Black Order found her... or him I suppose is more appropriate. Even more innocent when she was reborn for the Second Exorcist Project.

So this is a good flower for her, don't you think?

[She'll reach to take the daisy out after, looking down at it in her hand. A nod. Yeah, she guesses it is.]

... And you still don't think you can save her when you go home, yeah?

[The question is asked very carefully. He's not trying to be accusing at all. He just wants to know if she stands by that belief. It's kind of vital to what he has planned]

tempersword September 30 2011, 07:41:52 UTC
... It's not possible. [Not enough time to change things. Alma was right in the middle of killing herself when she left--and she didn't think she'd remember quickly enough to react even if it could be stopped.]

[Leans over to nose gently at Kanda's cheek]

So how about we send her off, yeah. With a prayer, some flowers, a light to guide her, and our well wishes. If you don't think you can save her, we'll have to entrust higher powers to ensure her happy ending.
