~ Wow, it's been a long time since I've updated this thing. Oh well, life gets busy.
Things are cruisin along here in Des Moines. We're already at 8 weeks into the second semester and there's only 1 more full week before spring break! Time really does fly.
I have 1 midterm this afternoon and a couple next week. I think I'm getting better at studying for tests and dealing with my anxiety towards them. They don't freak me out as much as they used to.
I spent much of last week performing and I even got to record a couple songs! (It was just on a cassette tape for my St. Olaf audition, but still, it was exciting for me. lol) I don't get to perform very often, so when I do, it's really fun and exciting for me. I get all fancied up and then spend up until I sing my first note getting my adrenaline from all the butterflies fluttering in my stomach. Then, once I start singing, the butterflies turn into one big rush. It's an indescribable feeling I have never been able to get anywhere else. Anyways, I figure if I want to be a performer, I need to grab any oppertunity I can to do so.
I don't know if everyone knows, but for those who do and are at all wondering, here is the most current update on my St. Olaf situation: I have sent in everything they need from me and am almost done with the actual application process. My choir director is graciously writing a recommendation for me (they need at least one from a music prof), and I sent out my audition tape along with my music resume (I have a resume!) this past Saturday. Sooo, this means that my responsibility is done and now the ball is basically in their court. Hopefully I'll still be hearing from them by the end of this month. Oh, and I've already decided that if I get accepted, I'm going. For sure. Please keep your fingers crossed!
I hope everyone is doing well. I miss you all!
I'm really ready for spring now.
