Alas no, much to my disappointment. I am perpetually skint and therefore never usually have the lump sum necessary with which to procure festival tickets, though with a little fore-thought I hope to go to Benicassim next year....
I take it you'll be at Reading then? Your icon is also rather ace :D
yes, hopefully if my ebay bought ticket isnt a fraud! i realize i found you through the free london community. huge help! :) im not actually from the UK but im flying in for about two months and dont know anyone there! im actually prolly going to reading alone which is going to suck!
Suuure. When you going to be over here? College pending, I may be able to drag you to some interesting gigs...
Oh and I wouldn't worry about Reading too much. You'll probably meet plenty of fun people there and it just means you won't have to accompany friends to bands you're not that crazy about : D
Aaah. Well, I've done quite abit of camping and would advise you thus...
> As well as everything else, make sure you take;
- wellington boots - the most powerful torch you can find (with spare batteries) - plenty of painkillers (even if you don't need them, somebody will) - bottled water - at least two pairs of socks for each day (wet feet all the time is awful!) - blankets as well as sleeping bag - a variety of clothes (e.g. tiny tshirt as well as huge warm hoodie)
> Attach a piece of string to your torch so you can hang it from the ceiling of your tent and you'll ACTUALLY be able to find things at night :D
> Get a wooden broomstick handle, saw it in two and sharpen the ends. These can then be driven into the ground, and you can hang your wellington boots over the ends while you aren't wearing them, like so:
you are the greatest!!!!! :) love the illustrated guide!! haha! i would have never thought of bringing all these things you told me to bring!
im in london for school and work actually. im a fashion designer by profession (gaaah it makes me sound so old) so im doing some work for a designer and trying to sell my clothes in england and doing some classes at st martins for about 3 weeks.
yeah staying with a photographer friend who isnt really into gigs and such... i wonder how she'll feel about all my late nights haha.
Hey, I wouldn't worry about sounding old, fashion designer sounds like a great job! And age has its atvantages, alot of London clubs are over 18's, and it can take quite alot of trying to get a bouncer to let you in minus ID. Though it is possible :D
I'm at college atm, doing my A levels. They're a two-year programme in which you usually do 4 subjects in your first year (me = history, politics, english and biology) and three in the second (I'll probably stop doing biology) with big scary exams at the end of each year. Most people (myself included) do them between leaving school and going to uni, but you can still get jobs with them if you don't want to do a degree.
Still no idea what exactly I'm going to do at uni, still no idea what kind of career I want, though I love to imagine myself making jewellery... You don't really need a degree for that, but I think the whole student life thing sounds like alot of fun! :D
I'm seventeeeeennnn, and not in central London, which is great actually because I get to live in a really pretty area, with nothing but fields out the back of my house, but I also have a tube station on my high street to take me anywhere I could wish for :D
thats cool. i lived in the edmonton area for a while when i was studying there 4 years ago. it was a twenty minute bus ride from the southgate station in zone four. my best friend is 18 :) i guess i dont really act my age haha
nice icon!
are you going to the reading festival?
