well, this is a shot from the window of the apartment i was staying with Erika in. Erika's parents' acquaintance, Grace, was very kind to let me crash at her place after i realized that the hotel i was going to stay in was really kinda shady.
I mean, what would you think if you were greeted at the escalator with this?
not to mention the other neon lights all over the area....HMMMMMM very insecure.
Doesn't help to have places like this nearby...
Hong kong chicken curry was dinner of day 2 I think? Grace brought us to Langham at the place called [match-too] for awesome pasta on the first night. At this point, we didn't know we were supposed to wash our utensils in our tea yet. O_o;
quite a ridiculously huge portion.
So we were housed at a placed called Prince Edward, which is on portland street, which is connected to the long long stretch of road called Nathan Road. IF you ever get lost, just follow Nathan road. It can either lead you back, or lead you somewhere really far away. We're in generally Mongkok area, so we did take our time to walk around and get a little bit lost. At the same time, visit ladies market, sai yang choi (?), tech street, fish street and whatever other streets that i cant pronounce.
The place is full of really suspicious looking hotels, which kinda explains why they keep selling these in their night markets.
WUT. According to erika, there was a granny selling sex toys in another area.
But well, the street food is cheap and quite good.
We also visited places like Tsim Sha Tsui, which is kinda like the Orchard, City Hall area of Mongkok. Lots of boutique shops and places we would not walk into. Nice buildings though. Needed to go to the horse tack shop there, and did a bit of exploring after that.
Can't remember where all this places are, perhaps soy street? where we went to look for porridge to eat.
Lastly, Erika at home, obsessing over mangosteens. XDXD
