Hi there! And thanks so much for friending me back! :D
And of course we celebrated it! The day of the final match we went out to have some beer and cheer with the (easily) several hundred people on the street! It was so fun! And the day of the bus celebration on Madrid, I saw it all on TV. It took several hours (3 or so more than originally planed), it was quite crazy! Even today here in Spain the WC is one of the main topics, in conversations and even in the news (the championship itself, and the kiss between Casillas and Sara Carbonero. That last one is a bit tiring, actually XD).
And I'm so glad you're starting to learn Spanish! Count on me to help you, don't worry about asking me any doubt you might have! ;)
So, first lesson about your doubt here:
'¿Cómo estás?' and '¿Qué tal?' actually mean the same: 'How are you?'. The thing here is that in some cases '¿Cómo?' and '¿Qué tal?' are exact counterparts. Also, know that it's also correct (and as widely used as those two) to say '¿Qué tal estás?', but saying just '¿Cómo?' ('How?'), without the verb, wouldn't be correct as it doesn't give enough information to know what you're talking about.
So, for 'How are you?':
¿Cómo estás? ---> OK ¿Cómo? ---> X ¿Qué tal estás? ---> OK ¿Qué tal? ---> OK
Not sure if my explanations here have been clear enough, so don't doubt to ask for any further explanation!
