One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, HELL YEAH FISH!

Once out to where the sonar was indicating large schools of fish, Berwald showed Tino how to turn off the throttle and shut off the engines. Eduard was rousing the sleepy heads still in bed, if they wanted to fish, they would have to get up on deck. The early-birds would get the fish.

There was coffee and continental breakfast of fruits and pastries ( Read more... )

Tino chuckled. "Well, I can, but I'm used to baiting on worms and grasshoppers... I've never baited on a fish, is there a particular way to get a fish on?" He asked, picking up a little bait fish and wriggling it. Oh he remembered putting a grasshopper in Eeva's hair once and her damn near killing him. Girls hated bugs so much, he didn't understand it.

"There's a trick to baiting fish, You don't want them to snatch it off your line too easy." Berwald said setting Tino between his knees and showing Tino exactly how to wrap his line with the bait so the hook would grab and he wouldn't lose his bait easily.

"Perfect. Just like that Buttercup. Now cast out the first line. Give it a great big overhead cast out."

"That, I have down to a science. When we have our Vainamoinen-Von Bock reunions there is always fishing. I've been casting lines since before I'd even come to Hetalia Academy." He chuckled, showing off to his fiance his casting skills. Sure, he maybe hadn't known how to get on a fish, now he did, and he could do the rest from there he was sure ( ... )

"Good Morning Rovhal, Siguard... Did you sleep alright?" Berwald asked watching their lines where the poles were in the support braces on the railing.

"Check out the sonar inside. We're in teaming waters. I plan on good eats tonight." Berwald grinned as he enjoyed the sun in his face and a warm fiance in his lap.

"Don't need to look at it." The Dane boasted. "I know you wouldn't be stupid enough to park us in empty waters." Cackled the Dane. "And yes. We slept real good." He leered, burying his face in Siguard's hair and taking a deep inhale. He loved the smell of Siguard's hair.

Siguard turned a shade of pink and refused to look the other two in the eyes. Oh his boyfriend just HAD to hint to their DEEDS!

Tino chortled with a sweet smile at them. "I'm glad you guys had a good valentines day. You both sure look really happy." Well, happy because Siguard wasn't clawing his boyfriend's eyes out. He decided to test the waters. "Mathias, if we can't grilling fish can I-"

"No you cannot. Grill is mine. You can have the deep fryer but the grill is Danish territory. If you touch it I'll go to war with your husband, as he's responsible for you."

"If I am gutting, I ain't cooking. The Dansk can have the grill. But Siguard preps the steaks. He's the magic man with the herbs. I bow to a master." Berwald said smiling an giving a friendly wink to Siguard before Tino's line gave a little quiver.

"Eyes open Titi, you have something interested and sniffing around your line. If it's too hard for you to keep hold of alone, let me know right away so I can help. It can snap off the support and right out of your hands. Some of these fish can get bigger than me!" Berwald cautioned eyes alert to see if Tino's line started to take off...

Tino's attention (along with Mathias' and Siguard's attention) where on the quivering line. Tino clasped the rod with both hands and held on in case the line took off. Normally he wouldn't want to accept help reeling in a fish, but if that graphic image of a fish bigger than Berwald had any effect on his psyche it was to make him willing to accept help.

"False Alarm, didn't take the bait... yet. It might be back or it might have gotten your bait loose. I'd check it Ti." Berwald instructed as he got up only momentarily to grab more coffee. Sitting back down and patting his knee for Tino to resume is position as "Lap Warmer."

"Yeah, the little bastard got my bait." Tino huffed at the hook, but he was not deterred! He took up another little fish from the bucket and attached it firmly to the hook as Berwald had showed him how, cast, and resumed his place on Berwald's lap.

All the while Mads was teasing Siguard. "Come on, don't you want to fish?"

"I could. Yes. But I'm currently too lazy to bait and cast my own hook." The Norwegian confessed in his stoic voice, but it was obvious that LAZY wasn't what was getting in the way but GROGGY as the fairy-seer released a yawn and settle back into Mathias' hold. The Dane rolled his eyes, baiting and casting an extra rod. "If you get a bite, pull'er in."

"I will. I will." The command was waved off in favor of staring at the sun painting colors in the sky. Maybe the strange young man was listening for mermaids?

"The Men at the Marina said they pulled in Mahi Mahi, Yellowfin and Bluefin Tuna out here Day before Yesterday. They also pulled in about three or four hundred pound black groupers. They also pulled in a nine hundred pound blue Marlin. I saw it, what a beauty. Ten feet long, I'd not have liked fighting that bastard though. They said to watch out for the Shortfin Mako sharks, they like skimming your catches in this area. The guy in the bait shop showed me a five hundred pound brute he caught hanging up on the wall." Berwald spoke in general to the group grinning like a man who loved to fish.

"Here's a bit of useless knowledge for you TiTi. Every Grouper is born female and then as they grow larger. When they exceed forty pounds they transform into males. They are a completely hermaphroditic species of fish."

"Wow... so glad humans aren't like that. If you scaled it up to human weights Siguard and I would still be girls." He snorted. Siguard interjected. "I'd probably weigh enough to remain androgynous, Tiina."

Tino just bristled and stuck out his tongue. "I'm all mammal thanks. Winky is staying right where he is." And with a nod of his head he was back to paying attention to his pole.

"I hope I don't catch a shark." He confessed. "I'll just shit my pants."

"I'd cut the line TiTi. I don't want you to try to reel in a shark either. Hell *I* Don't want a shark either." Berwald said chuckling at the whole conversation.

"Mads you got some interest." Berwald noticed the line beginning to tug.

"Aw yeee-ah." The Dane crooned, waiting patiently, and was ecstatic when the fish took his bait and became hooked. He had the first fish of the day! He was going to be the MAN and was not going to let the Svenk live that down ( ... )

It was Berwald's turn next for a nibble, he could tell as he reeled it was fairly big, but not a brute either. He was however feisty and putting up resistance. He leaped out of the water at one point during the struggle and Berwald got a good look at the demon on his line... a healthy King Mackerel, probably around thirty to forty pounds. He was going to taste awesome, if not the biggest catch Berwald had ever reeled in, he was not the smallest either.

Mathias grunted and huffed, glaring at Berwald's big catch. Plenty enough of a meal compared to his little bastard being used as bait. He was not a happy camper about his pathetic little mouthful.

Tino, however, was mesmerized and awestruck by the big fat boy thrown down into the cooler. "Aw that is so cool." He cooed.

"It's tasty but not something to celebrate over. There are a lot more out there far more impressive." Berwald said going into the galley before he re-baited his hook to grab more coffee. It was still a bit "nippy" this early in the morning.

Once he returned he baited another hook and flung it out to join the others hoping for more eats.
