Tidying Up.
I've decided to let my website go when it comes up for renewal this year. Sorry to anybody who has bookmarked stuff there but I think it's time to face the fact that my days of being able to write even a few pieces a year have gone. An archive is the place for my stuff now.
Anyway, I'm busily moving everything across to AO3 - it's all under Berty, so it's not going completely. And I have to say it's an exercise in embarrassment - some of the stuff I used to write! *blushes* I pondered cherry-picking the bits I thought were worth keeping, leap stories Pepe used to call them - the ones where you suddenly improved in some way, where something happened to the way you expressed your ideas. And you always knew when it happened - it was so exciting. I miss that. Actually it's been kind of nice revisiting those stories. In the end I decided not to touch any of them, even though the urge to fix things was huge. And I've put them all up on there - it's like a little reminder of how far I came when I was writing.
And I haven't given up hope that I will one day finish something worth posting. I have so many WIPs that I can't face binning because I remember how I felt when I wrote them - how much I loved them and how I worked to make each sentence, each word the best I could. I'm going to keep this journal for that reason - like leaving the door open a crack, just in case.
I have to thank Nicci and Ximeria who have lavished so much time and effort making the site look just how I imagined it would. Girls, I appreciate your help so much - you did so much for me. Thank you.
