Writing Woes and a fic rec.
Have you ever sat down to read something, and as you've read you've realised that this is the very same story you've kind of been writing for the last five months? That someone has got there before you?
Kind of sucks!
There are differences between her plot and mine, but the main device is so similar that it's unmistakable. *sigh* I think I'll have to put it aside and wait to see if I can think of something to give it some distance.
But in this case there is a silver lining, because the person who did this story first (and infinitely better) is cesperanza, and it is just an amazing read. Seriously. And I suspect everyone else in SGA fandom has already read it, but I'm going to rec it anyway.
It's Sheppard's Law, a McShep NC-17 angst-fest that I read once, and wanted to read again immediately, it was so perfect.
*makes shoo-type gestures* Treat yourself, even if it's not your fandom.
