I've been podfic'd.
That remarkable, one-woman fandom powerhouse, nos4a2no9 has recently put up a podfic version of my story In Extremis that she made. This is a thing of Yay! for many reasons.
1. Because when I go straight to hell (which I will for writing this smut) she will be coming with me for having recorded it.
2. Because when she says "by Berty" it makes me laugh a lot! In the south of the UK Berty sounds like BUH-tee, but the couple of times I've heard US or Canuck friends say it, it's BUER-tee. And it sounds dirty! Hee!
3. Because it's always cool when someone has liked a story of mine enough to remember it and in this case take hours of her life to make this amazing thing out of it.
4. Because... well, not to be crude, but Nos REALLY throws herself into the recording. If she sounds anything like this in real life - and I'm talking about the more intimate scenes in the story - then she's a WILD THING! Hell, I'm as straight as the day is long, but if I ever get to meet her in person, I'm totally sticking my tongue right down her throat because Christ, she really sounds like she's enjoying it, and I'd totally be up for... *blinks, clears throat and toes dirt*. Anyway, her fiance is a very lucky man.
5. Because she made it sound amazing and read it exactly the way it sounded in my head - you know, pauses in the right places and emphasis on the bits that needed it.
So, the squick factor of hearing my words aloud was minimal because she did such a fabulous job, and although I sat and blushed for about three hours after listening to it, then giggled and squirmed for about three more, I'm really grateful to her.
And if anyone wants to hear Nos say "Fuck" a lot, (all in the cause of true love, of course) then it's HERE.
Don't forget to tell her she's fabulous while you're there.
