Notes for psychics:  Bertie is what is known in the 1920's as an invert.  That is to say, a homosexual.  He is very, very nervous of anybody finding this out, the consequences, after all, being being sent to prison and then poked at by loony doctors for the rest of his life.  This is only exacerbated by the fact that he is currently ( Read more... )

Seriously, Bertie is one of those characters who put me in absolute awe when he's played well, because I know I couldn't come remotely close to being close. And you are playing him very, very well. :D

...Edgey needs to show him that there IS a time in which Greek love doesn't get you put in jail! I meant to have him comment on Bertie's post during the Valentine's virus but...I don't know what happened, actually, I guess I just failed. ^_^;;;

Clearly I just read too much Wodehouse. *grins* You are dreadfully kind, though, and I'm blushing like a virgin bride at the moment.

It's a rather unfortunate (or fortunate, the fangirl in me can't decide) coincidence that the first person he learnt this from was the Master, thence cultivating something of a fascination with him from Bertie. Now, I adore the Master- absolutely love him- but I can't help the feeling that something awful is going to happen to Bertie because of his association with him. But Bertie plows on ahead anyway, silly little git.

I haven't yet read any Wodehouse, but if the series is any indication there can never be such a thing as 'too much Wodehouse.' And it's just the truth. XD Bertie's just one of those characters that's absolutely beyond my ken. Period I'm not overly familiar with, incredible amount of slang I don't know, mental processes that don't fit anything I can recognize...hence, a fascination with anyone being able to do him so well, haha.

Oh Bertie dear! You do have a knack for doing so, don't you? Silly little git indeed. I hope nothing too terribly untoward will come of the association. XD

Oh, for shame! You must do so as soon as ever you can; 'tis absolutely top hole stuff. The sort of thing you read in public and find yourself laughing out loud and then feeling like a complete nutter.

There is a knack to getting the voice, I think, but really, it's a bit shocking how easily one slips into the period and vernacular and all that. The language has certainly infiltrated my own speech to an almost bizarre degree. It's funny, though, because I'd been writing and rp'ing Bertie for a while, and then I came here and suddenly people were going 'What are you saying, you lunatic?' Because you totally don't realise how little sense a lot of what he says makes if you're unfamiliar with the lingo.

One can only hope. Somewhere in the back of my head, I'm hoping for a bit of Master/Bertie slash, simply because that would be too utterly delectable to refuse, but how likely that is... I don't know. *grin*

That's the best kind of thing to read in public, truly. :D

If I hadn't seen the series I might be going 'Buh?' at most of what he says, ha ha! Actually, if it weren't for reading for context I'd probably be doing that anyway. XD

....Okay, yeah. That would be...wonderfully cracky. XD ♥
